I had two aluminum ice cream scoops that were damaged by the newer dishwasher detergents. So I wanted to avoid anything aluminum, as I wasn't about to start hand washing a scoop. I also wanted a release trigger. This scoop is chrome metal and has a large release area. Ice cream never ever gets stuck in it. The handle is very nice and you can get plenty of force for harder ice cream. I have had this scoop for over year and it is still like brand new. It is well constructed.

We eat ice cream every day and this is by far the best scoop. You can clean it easily, no ice cream is left on the scoop and it fits in different ice cream containers, even the smal ones. It feels sturdy and heavy enough, we like it!

This ice cream scoop is just amazing! I've tried plenty and was aleays disappointed with the release mechanisms. Almost gave up on those and opted for a regular plastic scoop until I found this one!Releases the scoop perfectly. The only thing is that it's heavy compared to other metal scoops but you get used to it. Worth it just for how nicely it releases the ice cream! I also said I would never pay that much for an ice cream scooper, but his is SO SO WORTH IT!
