I began a new life in a new town 2 years ago. I have had two previous wine openers with many supposed capabilities, and they neither one worked. One was also supposed to be a seal after it pumped out air. That one leaked like crazy. Another one had a different way of resting on the bottle top that was supposed to seal and cut at the same time. That worked for neither. This is an old standby style that still works to open the bottle of wine and remove the cork. My recommendation is that you not try a new fangled one as long as this one works. I will not try anything else.

We all know that Cuisinart makes great quality products. This wine opener doesn't disappoint. I purchased this particular opener solely because of the manufacturer. I had tried other openers in the past & none hold up to this one. I love the durability. I have gotten my monies worth & then some for this delight.

Ive wanted to get this for a long while and i am so happy i finally got it- my old cord screw was the screw in and pull types and sometimes depending on the bottle- can be pain so when i got this i tried on a bottle a wine and it was so much easy to use this one. Nice and sturdy too!

I have had this corkscrew for several months. It feel solid and looks good, except the corkscrew end bent (probably from pulling at an angle).

we chose a cuisinart corkscrew, because of the brand.after using only a short time, the auger that pulls the cork out broke off,I think the metal used for that portion of the opener was a softer or cheaper type of metal.I would not recommend this item to a friend.

We have had a lot of corkscrews, but this one is the BEST!Very smooth piercing of the cork, and easy to remove. It does require a little wiggling to finally clear the bottle top, but no problem, ever. Highly polished metal and looks more expensive thanit is!Would recommend it highly, and will purchase again when necessary.

I love this style of wine cork remover and I bought it because of it’s heft. There is a design flaw because there is a weak point where the 'screw' top is. The first one broke and they were kind enough to send me a replacement but it is mot strong and I expect that it will break soon. They need to re-engineer the design or use a stronger material. Disappointed!
