The metal is thin so it doesn’t hold heat as well as thicker ones.Otherwise it seems to work best with thinned chocolate or candy coat.

I bought these to help distribute small amounts of Procion Dye powder. I find that the small opening (promising in theory) inhibits releasing the small amounts of dye. If I shake or tap hard too much dye comes off the spoon. This was not the original purpose of these tools but seemed like others had success using them this way, but not me. I'm thinking about trying to bend the opening to make it slightly bigger, maybe that will do the trick.
