What do the sizes mean to your surfing?

  • BASE: The larger the base, the more drive and acceleration.
  • DEPTH: This is the height of the fin. The more depth, the more holding effect the fin will have on the board.
  • WIDTH / RAKE (or SWEEP): The more sweep or rake on a fin, the less pivot feeling a board will have, making it easier it is to lay into powerful carves. The more upright, the more pivot will allow for tighter turns and pocket surfing.

This is a great cost effective fin to help set a single fin box in a new board shape. Never surfed it.

The fin broke when it was screwed into the fin box. Culture Supply contacted me right away, and offered to ship an upgraded replacement fin (they also threw some wax for the hassle). The replacement fin arrived quickly. It’s nice to encounter a company that stands behind their brand and their products.
