Will Letterglyph pieces fit in my wood or plastic board?
Sizing
- Letterglyph pegs are appx 1.5mm thick (but vary individually)
- US pennies are also appx 1.5 mm thick (but vary individually)
Wood Board Line Spacing
Letterglyph letters (particularly the cursive sets) look best if the lines on your board are spaced approximately .25" apart from each other.
Some wood boards from major retailers have lines spaced approximately .5" apart from each other. Letterglyph letters will NOT look good on these boards. The letters may appear uneven and not flow together nicely.
Get 5 recently minted US pennies and insert them into your board. Try different pennies in different grooves as some wood boards have varying groove widths.
Wood Board:
If the pennies will not fit or are a little tight, Letterglyph pieces will NOT work. The grooves are too small.
If it’s easy to insert and remove the pennies with no resistance, Letterglyph pieces will fit your board. You’ll still need to be careful inserting and removing pieces to avoid peg breaks.
If the pennies are loose and wiggle in the slots, Letterglyph pieces will be loose in your board.
Plastic Board:
First test insert a penny into a corner of your board in case the plastic deforms. If there is no damage, proceed to test the remainder of the pennies across your board.
If the pennies press in and remove with just a little pressure than Letterglyph letters will work for your plastic board. If it’s difficult to insert a penny, or the plastic permanently deforms, then Letterglyph letters are not compatible with your board.

The letters come already cut which was so great! A true white. Easy to use and put together fun words on the letterboard I got. I got them to mix together with the letters I already had for a photoshoot and it turned out super cute. Comes with so many letters! None of the letters have broke. Functions just like other letters! Great value for your money! I would buy again over some of the other options!

These letters are perfect. I use these for my price sign for my business. They are super cute. I wish the came with each letter in an individual compartmen. They are very easy to use and we're reasonably priced.

This letter board worked well for our daughter’s baby shower. I didn’t care for the letters that came with the board as they weren’t smooth on the edges because you had to take them apart on your own. I ordered a few sets of other letters and they worked fine. The size was perfect and the price was good enough that I felt I could order the extra letters and not feel any waste of money. I’d buy again.

These are cool and reasonably priced. My colleague had to look at them closely because he thought they were individual words versus separate letters. I also liked some of the ligatures (ie, “llâ€). The letters are thick and don’t feel like they’ll break the minute you remove them from the board. I know this isn’t practical but it would be fun if you could “bounce†the letters more, but because they have to align with the felt board slats, I’m sure that’s not doable.The reason for the 4 stars is there could be some improvements. The “swishes†can only be done in one direction. I would like it if they could include both direction as that would add variety. Also providing more ligatures would be nice to add additional variety. However these aren’t show-stopping “issuesâ€.For the price, variety, and uniqueness, these are great!

I purchased these cursive letters for our baby announcement on our letter board. They are just perfect! I loved the size and shape of the letters. They flow together nicely and are still legible from a distance!

These letters are so cute, but it would’ve been nice if they came in a case. I honestly forgot I had them because I haven’t found a proper storage case to organize them yet. Eager to use them to make pretty holiday letter boards though.
