This is an excellent hitch and it is pretty straight forward for installing, in my case, on a 2018 Kia Sportage. The most difficult and absolutely necessary step is to prep the weld nuts/ installation holes on the Kia Frame. If your Kia is a couple years old and especially if you are located in the Northern part of the Country, these mounting holes are going to be significantly corroded. Before you even attempt to mount the hitch, get in there and try threading the M10 x 1.25 bolts into the 8 frame holes. There are videos that show how to clean these holes with a wire brush. In my case I had to use a thread cleaning tool. Not a Tap!!! A Tread cleaning bit M10 x 1.25. In my case it did the job on 7 of the 8 holes. The 8th hole, I had to drill out and tap for a larger thread because the threads were too damaged. In this case I drilled it out with a 25/64 bit and tapped it with a 7/16 x20. It worked perfectly. I now have 7 metric holes and 1 SAE.

I have a 2022 Kia Sportage SX Turbo GT and the trim package does interfere with the installation of two rear side bolts., otherwise it's very simple.I did install the hitch while it was on my car lift at 30". I did have to lower the muffler to install. Just put floor jack under the muffler and remove the rubber hanger from the top part of the hanger. Once the muffler is out of the way, it's very easy to install six of the eight bolts, two of the bolts were nearly impossible to install without prying the inside of the rear bumper using a 2x2 piece of wood.It did take me one hour to install the hitch. And don't forget to use Loctite on your bolts

I've installed 4-5 hitches and this was by far the easiest one. Direct bolt in, no drilling or cutting.

Overall, very simple install on a 2020 SX Turbo. Design is great and very sturdy. Be sure to search for the Sportage install video on YouTube from etrailer. I would recommend you cover your dual exhaust tips with something like a towel to prevent scratches during install. Also be sure to clean the existing bolt holes before you thread the bolts in. I did the install by myself on level ground with no jack. It would be helpful to have a second person if you’re not very flexible though. Bolt torque specs are 48 foot pounds or until “wow that’s kinda tight.” Overall, it’s definitely overkill for the Sportage. However, it looks great and your frame will break before this thing does.

This hitch fit perfectly and came with all the needed hardware and installation instructions. I think the unit I received was a return as it was not in a manufacturer's box. It was only in a Amazon box with many many feet of barbie pillows. 😳 I feel sorry for the driver. They really should teach packers not to try that. 60lb of hard pointy steel versus a plastic pillow? Really!

Purchased this hitch for our 2018 Kia Sportage. Firstly, it is very well built. I've never had experience with this brand, so wasn't sure what to expect, but the quality is on par with the Reese brand. Feels very solid and well build, paint is good, welds look really good. The installation is very easy on the Kia. Need to lower the exhaust a bit, and remove two trim panels, then it's four bolts, which are included, into pre-drilled and tapped holes. The only issue I ran into was because of the climate here, the holes are exposed and had rust in them, causing an issue getting the bolts to thread. But that is totally not an issue with the product, more of a watchout to anyone installing. If I hadn't had that issue the whole job would have taken about 30 minutes to complete. If you don't have one, an exhaust hanger removal tool makes the job much easier. There's a great video on YouTube from U-Haul on the installation as well. This is definitely the best hitch available for the money. Shipping was fast, and the product is great quality.

This hitch fit perfectly. It was very easy to install. It included all the necessary mounting bolts and locking washers. It did not include the 5/8 hitch pin or a decorative rubber plug for when the hitch is not in use. The paint quality looked very durable and high quality.
