They feature a 2" x 2" shank and have a higher weight capacity for towing heavy-duty trailers, including utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, single-horse livestock trailers and most recreational vehicle trailers. With class 3 trailer hitches being the most common type of trailer hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs, the class 3 ball mount, by association, is an excellent complement to this trailer hitch and these larger vehicles (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest weight capacity of any towing component; i.e. the vehicle, hitch, trailer, etc).This particular class 3 ball mount can be used in the drop position to provide a drop of 6", a gross trailer weight capacity of 7,500 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs. It can also be flipped to provide a rise of 4", a gross trailer weight capacity of 6,000 lbs. and a tongue weight capacity of 600 lbs. It features a length of 9-1/4". Class 3 ball mounts are CNC-formed and robotically welded to ensure unwavering precision and dependable strength in each and every unit. We mechanically descale each one to provide a smooth surface for a long-lasting finish. This class 3 ball mount comes with a durable gloss black powder coat finish to protect against corrosion, scratches, UV damage and more to give it the thick skin it needs to face the road ahead.

This was exactly the drop I needed to level out my trailer. The drop is gusseted for strength and Curt is a brand you can trust. Not much else to say it’s a solid piece.

Been needing to buy this for a while. I have a lifted Jeep Wrangler with huge mud tires including one on the back of course. Recently bought a trailer that gets near daily use and was using a standard 2 inch ball hitch from Napa which gave me like less than an inch of clearance between the ball hitch and my enormous mud tire on the back when hooking or unhooking the trailer. Even smashed my hand once between the trailer and the tire. Ouch. Also my trailer ended up having quite a bit of a tilt backward which looked kind of stupid and worried me that things may fall out. So I started looking at drop hitches, and this one here had decent reviews and a good price point so I rolled with it. Glad I did. Gives me plenty of clearance between jeep tire and hitch for way way faster and less dangerous hitching. Also my trailer is almost level now. It still tilts slightly down in the back but it's way better. I switched the ball from my other hitch (a two inch ball with an inch shaft) and it was a perfect fit, super easy to swap out. I even kept my other hitch just in case and now I have two.All in all I highly recommend. Seems really solid, gave me almost just the right drop. Fits in place great and I'm looking forward to easier hitching because of the drop when considering the raised nature of my jeep. Great product at a great price, would buy from curt again.

This has enough drop to make a small single axle trailer level with a stock 4Runner. Welds and steel are quality, fit is also good. Works in a stock Toyota receiver.Downside is that there seems to be a lot of side-to-side movement or flex in the long semi-vertical section. It does not feel right to put much weight on the tongue of the trailer. It seems okay for small, light use.

Had trouble with lowering boat trailer to attach to ball, so I needed a hitch that was higher. This hitch mount rotated 180 degrees gave me the necessary height to mate the trailer to the ball.
