This works great. It does take some getting used to, so definitely practice on scrap pieces first. I also used it on some previously stained and urethaned pieces with no issues. The piece you are branding, has to be flat and smooth, so if using a rougher piece of wood , you’d have to sand the spot down that you want to brand.

The electric iron with my custom design produced a nice image on cherry wood. It takes some practice to get the correct burn time to produce the image so plan to practice on samples of the material you want to brand. The image I sent was reproduced accurately and was sharp.

I have been pleased with this branding iron from initial order where vendor was diligent and helpful with getting the emblem correct through application of brand… I agree with other reviewers that it needs to be on one of the highest settings for a good brand, at least in hardwoods… The iron heats up quickly 3-5 minutes but cools down slowly!!!.. So be aware you need to have somewhere to station it for cooldown… Branding is straightforward but does take a good bit of practice (as you can see i need more!) because it's difficult (for me) to get perpendicular, not put too much pressure but also not enough , etc to get a good brand… I went with 4 stars simply because the temp control could be better but it does best trying to do it with a woodburner.. I do recommend giving it a try…

I had a custom design made for the iron and it was done quickly and came out excellently. The iron heats quickly and the adjustable temperature feature works well. 380 seemed to work well for cherry and about 420 for Oak. I would definitely buy another when needed. Shipping and communication were also great and I knew what was happening all along.

Don’t buy it it’s BS doesn’t work even on the highest setting. I let it sit for 15 minutes. Still couldn’t burn into wood. It’s trash not worth the money.

The stamp looks great and works well but I never received the box I ordered and paid extra for to keep it in.
