It was really cute when done. Some colors printed on the canvas were hard to determine the correct color and little tiny x’s were too hard to count.

The image is very cute and the package was well put together. However, they give you a 70x70 image but actual pillow is 67x67. So some rows and columns need to be omitted. The hook is terrible to work with so I advise purchasing a different one.Otherwise pattern is fun and easy to follow.

As I started working on this pillow the first area that I decided to do was the border or edge to give it some structure and stability. I followed the pattern which showed Color code G which is tan all around the border. As I finished the sides and bottom I realized I might not have enough brown to finish the rest of the pillow so I opted to skip the border on the top and just go straight in with the white. Ok no worries yet really. Then as I start to fill in the bottom row I started from right to left and I got to the left side and was off count. I had filled in about 3 rows thinking no big deal but then realized if I’m off count when the horns are going to be off the pillow because the pattern has them only one stitch from the edge. So I decided to go in with the horns and kinda fill in from there. Probably big mistake but I salvaged it. The reason it is off is because the pattern shows 70 rows across and the pillow is only 68 rows across. But it seems like I am off by more than that on my count because now I’m working from the center working out so I probably miscounted somewhere and since I filled in the horns, eyes and nose first I just have to go with it. I know it isn’t going to matter once it’s done but this one hasn’t been as fun because it doesn’t have an accurate color chart printed on the grid and counting isn’t possible since it doesn’t match. I mention the border too because I feel somehow that doing the border messed up my count but it doesn’t make mathematical sense. I have only done one other latch hook project and it was so much more fun and relaxing and easy because it had the pattern printed on the grid. This does have printing on the grid a little bit but not the same definition and the instructions tell you not to follow the color on the grid but rather go off of the chart. So much for that if it’s off. I would almost like to buy another one now that I know how to approach completing it. I’d have a relatively matching set. I will say the photo of the picture is much more detailed than my pillow and even with my struggles it could never be as detailed as the photo. Unless a person used a different technique or yarn. For example the eyes have just one square of white and a black border. When looking at it it’s not enough to stand out so I added 2 more white to the vertical grids to make the eyes stand out more. There have been other adjustments that I’ve made to try to bring dimension to the cows features. It’s going to be cute but I think the quality isn’t there.

Bought this as a gift for a friend and it was very well received. Classic latch-hook with cute design, all pieces appear to be accounted for.
