Was having jetting issues with a barn find sport, after trying 2 keihin carbs (old) just couldn't get the jetting or clean enough.So this carb costs as much as a jet kit, maybe less, comes with various jets.Put it on after checking the carb and making sure it didn't have any residue or shavings in it, it was very clean, nothing inside at all.Put it on, make sure to set the idle circuit screw 1.5 to 2 turns out.Idles perfect, runs great no misses or back fire, no surges.If you have a Evo bike with carb issues, just get this carbIt did need 3 things.The choke cable and the throttle cable housing off the old carb. It would not fit with the after market choke cable, it was maybe 1/2 inch too wide. The cable housing was too tall. Swap them out.And like others have said you will need to either tap out or get new carb screws to hold on the carb bracket.

did not like anything, cheap made, could not adjust so the motorcycle would idle. So took motorcycle to mechanic and worked on it, trying to adjust to idle and run but gave up after a day working on motorcycle when the idle screw stripped and no longer could adjust.

I bought this carb to replace my stock card on my 2002 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200. There were two things I had to do to the new carb to make it work on my 02 Sportster: I had to swap over the old throttle cable attachment and I had to re-tap the holes that the air cleaner bolts on to. Both of those were very easy as I have a tap & die set. This carb came with the main and slow jet already installed. They did not have any numbers on them to tell what they are. The new carb did come with 3 extra main and slow jets. I removed the jets that came installed and put in a 185 main jet and 48 slow jet. I did this because I have Vance & Hines 2 into 2 exhaust and an exposed Arlen Ness air filter. After installing the new carb I set the idle mixture screw (which is already accessible without having to drill it out) to 2 turns out. Pulled the choke out and started the bike, started right up. I got it warm and took it for a spin around the neighborhood to properly warm it up. When I got back, I immediately shut down the engine so i can pull the spark plugs and see how rich or lean its running. It was running a tiny bit to lean for my liking, so I turned out the idle mixture screw to 2.5 turns and that made it run perfectly. The issue I had with my old stock carburetor was having backfiring through the carb and hesitation when I was riding at very low throttle. My issue is now fixed, it feels like a brand new bike, and it only cost $45 and a couple hours of my time, I recommend this carb if you're trying to replace yours on an 02 Sportster 1200.

Was having problems with poor acceleration and popping back. Ordered this part because of the savings versus almost $600 at dealer. Easy to install and no problems with idle adjustment after installation. I will give everyone a heads up though. The holes to mount air filter plate will have to be tapped out to standard thread because they are metric threads and will not accept the OE screw size. Not a difficult task at all to save $400 plus dollars.

Tried everything to make this carb work, looks like a defect inside carb. On idle it would smoke black, just like if the choke was pulled … I could completely close the mixture screw and the bike would still run. And run rich .Maybe I just got a bad carb … 🤷â€â™‚ï¸.
