This is a review for the CVLIFE Rechargeable Rifle Laser Sight Compatible with Picatinny Rail, Low Profile Tactical Green/Red Laser Sight for 21MM Picatinny Rail, Green/Red Laser Beam with Strobe Function. This particular laser is intended for use as a laser sight for a firearm. It features a green (522nm) light that is highly visible over large distances. The documentation states it's a Class IIIA laser with a power output of less than 5mW.In the U.S., handheld green laser pointers are legally limited to 5mW per FDA (yes, the Food and Drug Administration) regulations (21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11). Class IIIA lasers are now referred to as Class 3R, which includes lasers with an output power of 1–5mW. This laser sight is quite possibly near the upper legal limit for consumer laser pointers in the U.S.Lasers exceeding this power classification fall into Class 3B or higher and cannot be marketed as "pointers." Many imported lasers falsely claim to be under 5mW but may exceed legal limits. It is important to purchase from reputable sources to ensure compliance and safety.I have no way to independently verify the claim that this is a Class IIIA laser, but I believe that it is. I own a laser that is confirmed to be just under the legal limit, and the beam from this sight appears indistinguishable from it.The build quality is excellent. The body is made of metal and, while not heavy, has a solid feel. The laser sight features a Picatinny mount that secures it firmly to a firearm. The sight measures 75mm (2.95 inches) in length and 21.5mm (0.85 inches) in height. There is a USB-C charging port on top, and the documentation claims a nine-hour runtime. Included in the box are two Allen wrenches (one for the mount and another for the rail), a spare M3 screw for the rail, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and a very helpful set of instructions. There is a power button on top that turns the laser on and off, unlike most pointers that have only a momentary switch. Additionally, the top features U/D (up/down) and L/R (left/right) adjustments for dialing in the sight.I don’t own any firearms, but I use lasers like this to assist in pointing my telescope. Class IIIA (3R) green lasers (≤5mW) are legal for astronomy and commonly used as star pointers. However, they must be used responsibly—never point them at aircraft (a federal crime), people’s eyes, or in restricted areas. Some local laws impose additional restrictions, especially near observatories or airports.Mounting the laser sight on my telescope was a bit of a challenge, as I needed a Picatinny rail-to-Orion/Synta/Vixen finder adapter, which can be difficult to find. However, a well-known astronomy specialty shop offers such a mount—just ask on an astronomy forum, and they will point you in the right direction. The standout feature of this laser sight is the on/off switch. The pointer I previously used (purchased from the same vendor I referenced earlier) had a momentary switch, as do most others. Many telescope users resort to various hacks to make them easier to use for precision pointing. With this laser sight, a simple tap of the switch turns the beam on, allowing for target acquisition, and another tap turns it off. Simple and effective!Would I have returned this item after opening the box? No way! It’s a problem solver in my astrophotography setup. I will use this for years to help me align my telescope. Very, very pleased with this purchase. I am sure it would make a fine laser sight for a firearm owner as well.

This universal laser sight is decent. Nice tactile feel to the switch, good seal on the charging dust cap, solid mounting affixation, and easy to zero in with the included allen key. It's not all that bright, but in line with my expectations. You're definitely not going to see this at 1km as advertised, even on the darkest night. The price is also on par with other aftermarket lasers, and I won't knock this one for following the trend. The quality is decent enough. I'm hoping it says dialed in after some bumps and maybe a drop or two, we'll see.

This is a really slick tactical sight that really has a sharp laser on it. It has a great build quality, and the fact that it’s rechargeable is definitely an added bonus as it actually does hold a charge for quite a long time considering the strength of the beam. I think for the money it’s a good buy make a great gift for any gun enthusiast in your household. It is adjustable both on the X and Y access. So it will accommodate many installation points on your firearm as needed with the ability to adjust and compensate for any placement or distance. I would prefer a little bit more ease of adjustability as it requires an extremely small hex key to adjust it so just to get on the fly becomes slightly cumbersome, especially for for those who have farsightedness. I’ve had no issues thus far and the battery life seems to be great as I still have yet to charge the sight after many hours of use. As for the value for the money, I’m not sure I don’t have any really comparable tactical sights but I imagine this is a par with something much more expensive all things considered.

Worst laser I’ve ever bought. I won’t even shine a quarter of the distance they advertise it will. At night, on a pitch black night, you’re lucky to see it 300m away. Total waste of money, I already started a return…

I have another product made by CVLIFE that I really like so I thought I would try this CVLIFE Rifle Laser Sight with Picatinny Rail. I received the green laser which is bright and is well built (all metal on the outside). I very much appreciate the low profile and it does not interfere with my scope. As I mentioned, this green laser is bright. I have a brick wall that is exactly 50 yards across from my back property that I use as my testing benchmark. The laser is easy to spot with the naked eye on overcast days and very easy to see through a scope. After about 300 rounds, the laser is still holding solid. Another nice product from CVLIFE. I rate this laser five Amazon stars.

Not everything needs a light-laser combo, and this is perfect for just a laser or for pairing with a separate light-only option. The USB-C charging makes it super convenient, and it holds a charge well. The compact design fits securely, and the beam is bright with both constant and strobe modes. For the price, this is a solid option that gets the job done without breaking the bank!

Great packaging, and instructions. Mounted on my .22 AR to keep by the back door just incase something trys going after the dogs while they are outside. Feels great in your hand. Super easy to turn on with one push of a button and charges via USB C. Used it during the day and brightness was on point, could see it on my barn from about 40 yards away with ease. Great value for your money and ill be getting another for my buddies as well.
