Trusted by the military, these small ChemLights can be used for a variety of tactical and recreational activities including marking rooms, reading maps, camping lighting, fire-fighting “bread crumbs,” rank identification, or as a fishing light stick. Each light stick is individually foil-wrapped for protection from light and moisture exposure. Furthermore, the Mini ChemLight meets Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and NATO Maintenance and Supply Agency (NAMSA) specifications, and National/NATO Stock Numbers (NSN) are printed on each product.

Very high quality and if you leave them in the foil packs they have a good shelf life. These work well as markers and for night fishing. They are not the best for illumination a larger area but for close up work they are okay in a pinch. The size of the foil pack and trapped air rule out carry in a wallet but you could easily toss them in a bag or purse. You can also look into the micro LED batty powered party lights which are tiny and give out substantially more light and "glow" for a week or more. This is the only brand of chem lite I will buy due to past experiences with other brands. Part of my storm kit.

THey are definitely brighter in the cold (below freezing) than normal glow sticks but do go very dim in the cold

The manufacturer guarantees function for 4 years, although states that they often work past the expiration date. The chemlights I purchased were received July 12, 2023 and had an expiration date of 10/2023.

Really not worth the money, same cost of the 6inch and does not last that long and light is limited of course due to the small size....if you has some unique reason why you would need such a tiny chem-light then then this would work for you. Honestly for 99% of folks its better to get the 6" ChemLights this really was a waste of money.
