I've been trying out a variety of Cyalume light sticks and comparing them for a while now, and here is what I've found with these:1) They have always lasted longer than 12 hours (about 10-12 hours of good light, tapering off to 24 hours or more at 73F)2) They emit a green light that is a slightly different hue than their 6" light sticks, not that it really matters3) If you're looking for a disposable source of emergency light for night safety, I think these are a great choiceJust a random note: I did a side-by-side comparison of these with the Cyalume SnapLight flare alternatives (green color). The chemical reaction in the flare is certainly faster and thus gives off more light per unit of fluid. However, since these are bigger, to the naked eye the light output was roughly the same. After about 4 hours, the flare alternative started to trail behind these 12" light sticks in output. Don't get me wrong, the flares are good for their purpose, but these will provide useful light for a longer period of time.

Finally after 2 months, 2 return to seller status, I finally got my items on the 3rd try by Amazon!!! Thanks Amazon!!Product is great at Night....works just as well as their 6" versions. If only Cyalume can come out with a way to have the brightness maintained at brightest for at least 2-4hrs?? Max Brightness only achieved at activation for about 3mins....after which it dims down. However, throughout the 8 hrs or more, illumination is still brighter then the China bought ones. Also noticed, the Chemical content is lesser then the china made ones.Any case, Simply a better product then the various light sticks I have purchased so far!! Even though price is a little high, Cyalume will still be my no.1 choice for lightsticks!!Mishandling somewhere or packaging problem. 3 out of 25 of them has got glass shattering sound in them, indicating its been activated already though packaging is still intact.Otherwise.....Thanks Cyalume for a Great Product!!Thanks AMAZON for helping me get the item to my country in Asia!!

I recently bought two (2) boxes of these cool SnapLights and was going to order a third when I noticed the seller raised the price; I paid $107.10 each for those first two boxes - which I thought was fair for what you get. But now, the price is listed as $136.80... which feels just a little to much like gouging to me. And so - No Sale.The SnapLights themselves are pretty cool; really bright for the first 3-4 minutes and then good, usable light for roughly 12 hours, though they'll still shed a dim glow 24-30 hours after being activated.If you like chemical lights, then I say they're 5 Stars for a box of 25 for around $100; but in my opinion the current price is too high. 4 Stars at best depending on your needs; I say 3 Stars at the moment because my plans were foiled by the sudden price hike.

Not as bright as the military grade/tactical version also sold on Amazon but a decent product For the price point
