This thing is fine. The pole is hollow, but that's typical with telescoping poles. It does stay extended despite what some others say. You have to twist the sections to tighten them down. It can get very long. The tip screws on easily and seems sharp. There is a barb. I feel like if you slam it into something, it might bend because the metal of the poles is sort of thin. Other than that it's good. 4 stars.
