I'm a very casual drummer and got these to augment my Frankenstein drum set I've pieced together over the years. They seem fine for a beginning drummer, but they seem a little brighter sounding than what I'm used to. I like the big deep dark sound of a good ride cymbal so I'll have to keep looking for that, but this seems like a good value for a drummer on a budget.

My grandson loves them. The sound that he get form them compared to the ones that came with his drum set is so different.

Overall poor sound quality, but for the money, sufficient for practicing your licks. More like 2&1/2 stars

First of all, these aren't the best cymbals on the market. But, given that you can spend more than $1,000 on a set of cymbals, that's to be expected. And, for inexpensive beginner cymbals, they aren't bad. They're a nice brass alloy. This is a bright set, vs a darker sound. They ring well, in some ways, too well on my set-the overtones sometimes end up blending more than I'd like. I'm rating down slightly because the overtones do sometimes clash and end up sounding unpleasant to my ears, especially if my student really hits HARD-I suspect that many beginners won't have the control needed to get a good sound out of this set, and by the time they do, they'll likely want a better one. The 20", in particular, rings a LOT and may end up doing time with my middle school ensemble since I don't have a gong. Please note that this is NOT a low sound set, so if you have a small practice space, keep that in mind,The bag is nice, with sections for each cymbal. The sticks are standard 5a wood sticks, larger and heavier than I prefer for drumset playing. They'll be good for my beginning snare players, though. In general, though, if you have an inexpensive drum set and would like to add more cymbals or replace the ones you have, this set may be worth trying.. If you've spent more on your drums, you'll probably want a better set of cymbals.

These are very decent cymbals if you're on a budget. They aren't road material but for practicing and garage jamming they are quite suitable.
