Edit: though I had issues with the first lock I ordered, the company promptly reached out and offered a replacement. It hasn’t been on but a couple of weeks but I’ll upgrade to 5 stars just for the service. It isn’t an expensive lock and for them to offer to try a replacement at no cost to me I will respect that.Original: Purchased on 12/11/22, arrived 12/15/22. As of the writing of this it has been 81 days and the key will not come out of the lock. It won’t lock, unlock, nothing. Completely frozen. I didn’t have super high expectations but I figured it would last longer than 81 days.

I just loved this coupler lock. Made of durable metal and very easy to use. Great value and I knowing my trailer is secure is great. Easy to remove . It fits both my trailers. I have a dump trailer and horse trailer.

Fit and finish is nice, overall the quality looks great. However, these are hard to lock because the lock (on one side of the trailer tongue) and bolt (other side of trailer tongue) are two separate parts that must both be held together while locking. A third hand is required to insert the key and turn to lock and the insertion depth is very picky, too deep or too shallow and wont turn.To make this better the manufacturer needs a tighter fit of the lock on the bolt and a stop for the key insertion. Even better would be an auto locking spring like any padlock would have.I'm keep this as I really need something right now and don't have time to get a replacement.

real problem with the keys - especially unlocking or trying to take offworks great out the box, but after its on the trailer out in the weather or tension - good luck unlocking it and taking it offI had to break both mine to get them off

Challenging at best to get the lock open or remove the key from the lock. Fun fact: the side opposite of the locking cylinderis simply screwed on. This means it isn't secure at all, but I actually consider it to be a feature. We had a tire blowout on the trailer and needed to separate the trailer so we could continue to getting a replacement tire. I forgot the key to remove the lock at home, but my wife discovered the other side simply unscrews. I think it is still enough to deter theft as no one would guess that it could be so easily defeated and given the issues with getting the lock to unlock with the key, this is extra insurance that it is always detachable.
