Every guitar I have, I need to use something that will not cause a reaction from my skin. Nickel wound turns my fingers black. I always looked for a bright tone and coated strings. B Steel and El..r have been good choices. Gave this a chance. Great tone and longevity while keeping tone has lived up to its reputation. Always liked Daddario strings. From Pro Arte used for my classical to their electric guitar strings. Just had moved away from them for a while.Í will be purchasing these again.

I’ve always played this brand. You just can’t go wrong. The tension is always perfect. The durability is amazing, I rarely break these strings. The functionality is exactly how you’d want them to be. The tuneability is nearly perfect. And the value is an amazing value

I usually play 10/46 strings , but got these in 9s to put on a couple of cheaper guitars that may appreciate them. Sounds great and stretched out in no time, hold consistent tune and feel really good, as far as longevity , not sure yet, been playing them off and on for a couple weeks now, time will tell, if they last longer than 2-3 months, that’s pretty good for me

These strings are great, like any other daddario strings, and they ARE different from regular/traditional electric guitar strings. In my opinion they have less 'new string sound' but are brighter sounding strings, so they don't sound as metallic as ordinary new strings but they retain the sound that they have for much longer than regular strings; a regular set of strings will keep their new sound for maybe a couple days before settling in, these ones keep it for weeks. They also feel much different, whenever I tried them and noticed the difference the best way I could describe it is by saying: it's exactly what you would expect from steel vs nickel. They're tougher, duller looking, and sound a little more metallic (broken in). Nickel strings, by comparison, are smoother, lighter, and look shinier; just as you would expect from nickel vs steel. I can't stress that enough that's the #1 thing I was thinking when I tried them. "I really don't know what I expected but this makes total sense.". I like them because the roughness makes me feel like I can do slides more precisely on the low strings, as far as I know the nonwound strings have no difference but don't quote me on that.

I'm a bassist just taking up guitar, so I couldn't stand light strings--they're too small, and I felt like I would break them by bending (and they just kept stretching and stretching, which drove me nuts because I didn't want to retune after every single bend even after hours of play time). Some of it, I'm sure is just me being a bassist used to having some actual string there to grab, but lights just flew out of my hand because they were too fine (and I'm a girl with tiny hands, so it's not like I have super big paws that would make it understandable). So I got mediums instead, knowing that I wanted steel rather than nickel from playing bass (for both tone and nickel-sensitivites). They're a lot better at holding their tuning, and once they've stretched properly, they keep it pretty well. Watch the G string in particular because it stretches the most.I'm biased because I'm a bassist, and when I first got a guitar, I felt like I was holding someone else's tiny, delicate toy, so if you don't have a lot of finger strength, you may want to go with light gauge instead. But for people with strong hands, mediums will be better. Now if only I could remember not to fret so hard...

These sound good. Not sure how much better than the regular XL's they are but they are good.

I previously used the D'Addario EXL120 10-46's and liked them for quite a while. My only gripe (if you can call it that) was they weren't quite as bright as I wanted. I wanted that little bit of ring in the higher notes that sustained better and brighter than I could get with the nickel strings. One day at our mom and pop local music store I saw the EPS510 Pro Steels and figured I'd try them out on my Les Paul. I wasn't expecting much difference to be honest but they delivered and then some. The tones were brighter all around and the sustain I could hold on my high E string was between 26-32 seconds steadily.Since the cost difference wasn't all that much I've since chosen to use these exclusively on all 9 of my guitars. Where they really made a huge difference though was on my Squier Telecaster, unbelievable difference too! And on both of my Gretsch's they absolutely ring of tone like no other strings. I know everyone has their favorite "go to" strings and I've tried some of those with "meh" results. These absolutely work so it's what I'm sticking with. I've never been a fan of coated strings, especially going back to the 1st generation Elixir's and I refuse to pay their price. I know they've gotten better since then but having flaking from the coating in my fingerboard and in my pickups is annoying and just something else that needs to be maintained for no real benefit and at an outrageous cost.I've found what I like in the EPS510's and I'll stick with them.
