I bought this viola to use at our studio as a teaching tool and I really love it. For the price it sounds amazing and was way better than I was expecting! I changed out the strings to TonicA strings and they improved the sound even more. Mine did not come with fine tuners and the pegs were not precision pegs.The pegs on the viola move smoothly and hold the strings very well and do not slip or stick. For a student though, I would recommend having fine tuners installed to make tuning an easier experience for them. Also- the viola projects extremely well. Great for student orchestra and solo events!

As I am a beginner, I can not evaluate the sound. However, since the tuning used a fine tuner, there is no problem. Each part is good in quality and easy to use. The quality was better than the review. There was some varnish stains, but it is also good as an outfit.

I am somewhat of a craftsman, musician, scientist, inventor, and what not. So even though these are empty words hopefully they give you my background. I play guitar, drums, keyboard, and violin. Ok so yes I know the item didn't have fine tuners when I ordered it, but when you have really bad tuners slipping in the posts then you have a problem. I stretched the strings before tuning the item up. As 99% of the time I find my instruments need the strings stretched. After stretching the strings for a good 15-20 mins. I attempted to tune it up and it wouldn't stay in tune. It drop pitch by .20 cents after being tuned up. The tuners were not smooth in the posts. Also, this item smelled like the most toxic chemical varnish you could find. So while I attempt to play my viola I can smell the wonderful lacquer that will eventually destroy my brain cells. I don't review things often, but when someone doesn't check their instruments quality before shipping it I get perturbed. I always attempt to sent quality items to my customer. I want the item to be ready for the customer. I double check it and put a lot of care into the item. This is called being successful in producing a quality product and putting a name on it. Apparently, most people see customers as numbers and quality is not important, because it's a numbers game. Unfortunately, I rule under let's make people happy the first time. Peace to all. When I received this I was so happy that I'd decided to buy it - it's such a beautiful instrument; really well crafted, a lovely color, and produces a lovely sound as well as being super easy to tune. It's a very easy instrument to play, produces no off notes (at least for me!), and the postage is free, and very fast!
