These boxes are a very nice size for DIY guitar pedals that have more than three or four knobs on top. The boxes themselves are plain aluminum (ready to prime and paint) and have a smooth surface that's easy to work with.

The attached picture is of a prototype of the first pedal I've ever built. This case was the least of my problems.They're made of a soft aluminum that drills easily and allows for precision alignment of drill bits even with a handheld drill. This isn't 7075 or another hard aluminum. It's soft. The surface takes paint like a champ. The screws fit nicely. I'm very pleased.

Basic 1590BB aluminum cases for your next DIY pedal build. Works as it should. All screws fit nicely. Have purchased multiple times.

I ordered three more of these after my first order. They are solid. I drilled some holes for connectors, nibbled a slot near side/edge to route cables, was very easy to work with. Slightly tapered by design. Not much more to say. After building some more prototypes I will likely buy again.
