About this item

  • Spun with Izanas, a state-of-the-art new material utilizing 8 Carriers.
  • The 8 carriers are supple yet with Izanas they’re 4 times as abrasion resistant as a typically tougher 4 carrier.
  • The Ultimate braided line, strong, smooth and the most abrasion resistant.
  • A majestic blue tone with high visibility while incorporating water and sky contrast.

The ultimate new braid in the J-Braid family, Daiwa J-Braid Grand x8 is some of the strongest and most abrasion resistant 8-carrier braided fishing line ever put on the market. Yet, despite its durability, J-Braid Grand x8 is also extremely soft, supple, and easy-to-spool.
How is fishing line with such remarkable characteristics possible? J-Braid Grand x8 is spun with IZANAS, a new, state-of-the-art, high-modulus fiber that is leaps and bounds stronger than any other fiber material on the market. For example, according to Toyobo Industrial Materials (the maker of IZANAS), it's roughly four times stronger than polyester nylon (what most monofilament is made of), twice as strong as fluorocarbon, and is even stronger than aramid, a class of military- and aerospace-grade fibers that includes Kevlar (aka the stuff bulletproof vests are made of), among others. Available in 150 and 300 yard spools in test strengths ranging for 6 pound to 80 pound.

I have this at 50lbs on my Daiwa Zillion TW HD baitcasting reel and Daiwa Proteus inshore rod. This thing performs amazingly and cast a mile (not in literal term but you get it). It is smooth, it retains it's color for the most part and it is strong. As the title states, I used this specific one for rock fishing. The abrasion resistance on this line is second to none in my opinion. The fact that it can withstand rubbing on sharp rocks when I'm fishing is remarkable. I have yet to break any line and for the price, it's quite hard to beat.If you're looking for a great fishing line from a reputable manufacturer that won't break easily, cast a country mile, cast smoothly and won't break your bank? Then I highly recommend for you to take a close look at these Daiwa J Braid X8 Grand.

I have been using this 6# braid on my ultra lights. No memory, extra distance on casts and very sensitive compared to mono. This and power pro are my go to lines. No problem with knot strength. Great value for the money.

Some of the best braided line I’ve used! I have this line on a lot of my reels, and have had no issues with it. The color does not come off when spooling it on my reels, unlike other brands. It’s very strong, smooth, and casts a mile! Would definitely recommend picking up a spool if you are looking for a new braid to try. I prefer it over suffix and power pro.

Its good line. kind of sucks for how thin it is, floats on the water but a good line overall.

I've had this line on my reel for several months now with no issues. Biggest fish landed was a 26 in. Speckled trout. Not bad for 10lb braid

I have been having an issue with other brands and knots slipping, this seems to be resolved with Jbraid.

Much cheaper than the Sufix line most anglers prefer, haven't noticed any issues with it yet. I did get a wind knot, but think I put a little too much line on. I got the gray color, so don't think I've have any issue with color wearing off. Used for inshore saltwater fishing
