Many tuna fishermen use Seaguar fluorocarbon leader, and I have many in various sizes/lbs. I started trying out with Daiwa J-Fluoro for two reasons. This product is less expensive and stretches a little bit, which is helpful when landing big fish. I love this product now because my recent catch was on this product - 80 lbs - in July 2024. It was my personal best bluefin tuna at 167 lbs! I made my wind-on leaders because, in July 2023, I lost a big tuna using a Suffix 100 lbs wind-on, for which I paid about $30.00. I saved money by making my own wind-on leaders, and more importantly, I landed the biggest fish of my life!

This is my go to flouro for big or small. Really abrasion resistant, does well for line shy fish. Really shines when I use it for night fishing for mangroves on Hubbards marina!

If you take a close look on the picture which is posted on the amazon, you could find the is shows the 80 test pounds has 0.765mm on the diameter. The one I received is marked 0.887mm on the spool which is way over my setup.

This is not what fluorocarbon is supposed to be. I have true fluorocarbon and when you put the line in water, you cannot see it, or just a little bit. This one seems juste normal monofilament line. It is clearly visible in water. Deception!
