These bolts have a unique break-a-way feature that enables you to adjust to the proper height without the use of a hacksaw. This allows for a quicker installation and perfect alignment.You can easily snap-off part of the toilet bolt on the thinned out section of the bolt.

Very poorly designed product. I bought these to reduce metal dust when installing my toilet (supposedly don't need to saw it). The break-away mechanism is very stiff and difficult to do (once the toilet is installed), and the threads are very weak and create metal dust everywhere when you are trying to break it. So, it didn't really reduce the amount of dust, and almost broke the toilet porcelain, and did break two of my pliers I was using to break it. Use an adjustable or a brass saw-able option.
