This is the best gun. Don't settle for steel at the lower price - they are much heavier. This one is very light-weight and durable. it's so good, that I bought a second one for my mom!

I ordered two of these for clamming in Washington state. This was my first time experiencing clamming and upon recommendations and reviews I chose this clam gun as it seemed to be a popular option. It is easily the worst purchase I have ever made! I purchased two of these and for $140 dollars, these clam guns are cheaply made from China. The welding job on them is horrible. My first time using it was fine. However, on our second trip BOTH clam guns snapped where they were welded together. I spoke to many other clammers on the beach and the suggested route from most was to go with a PVC clam gun. I was able to find two PVC clam guns from a sporting goods store for only $12.99 each and they are made in America from a company called Willapa Marine. They have lasted MONTHS for a fraction of what this clam gun costs!

Seems to work well, but I may have purchased for the wrong type of clam digging in NorCal. If you are NorCal digging for horseneck, this probably isn't what you want/need.

I took this clam gun to Vancouver for a week. It works great with no damage. Good value.

Light weight, and worked reasonably well for my first clamming season 10 months ago. I used it probably about a dozen times (outings not digs). Today, the handle came off after 5 digs - a great disappointment. It appears the weld was poor. I am giving two stars because it worked at first, but ultimately failed before even a year.

The handle broke off on the sixth hole. Don’t buy this product.
