As stated, this DAP 211442 Plastic Latex Based Wood Filler works very well for me in repair of wood windows. We have an old house with the old wood windows, built circa late 50s. I have not been able to keep up with all house maintenance like I should, and the wood windows have paid the price. Some have quite of bit of deterioration and wood rot. For the really bad ones I have cut out the rotted section and rebuilt, but for those with lesser damage, I am able to repair quite well with this wood filler. I recommend it.

It works well for me but I did have a problem when it arrived. It had leaked in the shipping bag but Amazon was great and sent out a replacement that arrived the next day. I use it in my 3d printing hobby for filling gaps or smoothing prints out. Really durable and very easy to work with. Dries really fast, both a pro and a con. Easy cleanup and overall a great product.

I have used this wood filler alongside the Gorilla brand wood filler and I much prefer this stuff. The Gorilla filler is extremely gritty and not as easy to apply, and this stuff hardens much more quickly. It also accepts paint quite readily and the paint has held up on the filler just as well as on the real wood, and that is across temperatures ranging from 0 to 100.

I have a pitbull/bulldog mix, but what her DNA test failed to mention was that she is part beaver as well (they must not check for that species on the test). But anyways, we adopted her almost 1 year ago. And we were finding that when we were away from home, we’d come back to find she was slowly chewing away at the windowsill. We’ve still yet to see her do it, but she’s left enough evidence to know she’s the culprit. So I’ve been looking for something to begin repairing it, I don’t know much about construction or putty or wood repair in general. But this was less than $10, why not?I’m AMAZED at this stuff. It spreads so easily, I just used my fingers (with surgical gloves) to build it up. It dries quickly so I could layer it quickly. And we’re talking about some pretty serious damage, very deep chunks off wood missing. It’s like a brand new windowsill. I’ve layered it about 4 times especially on the places the most is missing out of. WOAH! The photos are of the most recent coat I did last night and prior to sanding it. This stuff is a must for projects like this!

First off it says there are 16 ounces in here, but it was only half of a container. Not saying that there wasn’t 16 ounces I didn’t bother to weigh it, but it sure didn’t cover much.It has a gritty kind of dry texture. So it kept kind of breaking off as I was filling in the large gaps. (The other product I used was the opposite. It was so liquidy that on my vertical surface it wouldn’t stay put. I had to use it to finish the job as again this container didn’t have nearly as much in it as I expected.) and just so you know my application area was a rotted out treated wood area. So the length and gap in the wood was about a foot long And 1 inches tall. It filled about a third of the Space. When I slid the spatula along in order to smooth it out it wasn’t the easiest process. Thankfully I wasn’t going for perfection. So in summary if you’ve got a substantial gap on some wood this is probably not your product. Or if you do use it you need to get more than this little 16 ounce container.

I used this to cover nails in soft wood and it worked great, can't even tell they are there after I sanded the area and it painted really. My only fault is not with the product but with the container it comes in. It doesn't seem to seal back up very well and I am a bit worried it will not store for very long before drying up. I would recommend using it all at once, seems a waste for it not to come in a better container.
