I have been buying these for several years now -- they're not cheap but I have never worn a pair out -- comfy and don't make my feet sweat -- I am a believe these are the best socks made.

After a lot of research for a pair of socks to withstand a 200 mile hike, Darn Tough came up time after time. The socks aren't cheap, but they are made in Vermont and guaranteed for life. I figured give them a try.Once I put them on, I realized why my research said these were great socks. First off, they feel seamless. You are not fiddling with making sure the sock is on your foot properly. It seems designed for the shape of your foot. I have already put some miles on these and they do not twist, bind, or go out of place as I walked.These pairs had a lot of cushioning for hiking. They work well with the nice hiking shoes I have. Comfortable and minimize some of the foot pounding on my hikes. The only drawback is that I have used them during the summer and they can be warm. I believe they have thinner socks if that is an issue.Very happy with the purchase. Happy to be buying from an American company. Love knowing that if these socks ever fail, you contact the folks in Vermont and they send you a return label and ship you a new replacement pair. I guess this will be my last pair of hiking socks I will ever buy.

These are the most comfortable socks I've ever worn, and they fit perfectly! I had bought XL in the past, but they were too big, even though the chart said XL would fit my feet. I wear a 14 wide in boots, but I bought the large this time, and the fit is much better. There isn't a bunch of extra material in the back of the heel like with the XL. These 1/4 socks come up to the perfect height wearing them with Keen mid height hiking boots. I'm going to buy a pair for everyday of the week I like them so much. They have a lifetime warranty, so I'd never have to buy socks again. They're so much better than cotton socks. The difference is night and day between them! Your feet stay much cooler. I just spent $160 on eight pairs of the no show socks for everyday wear. That's how good these are! The socks in my picture are the taupe ones, but they look grey to me.

Very comfortable and well made. They're listed as lightweight and while they are not at all bulky, they feel much more substantial than most other brands. I sized up for perfect fit.

These are the best socks! Don’t be put off by the high price, as you will have these socks for years. They are true to size, comfortable and just the right thickness.

Bought for a 4 day camping trip with some light to moderate hiking. Socks were comfortable and held up well. They were a touch warmer than i might have liked, but nothing that made them problematic. After the first day doing about 4.5 miles they were already super funky smelling. Fine after a wash and they're definitely going to become my go-to hiking socks

Darn Tough makes the best hiking socks out there. There are other high-quality socks like Smartwool, Fits, and Farm to Feet that I also enjoy, but you cannot beat the warranty of Darn Toughs, the way they support the hiking community, and the fact that they still produce their goods in the USA out of fine quality merino blends.If I could only own Darn Toughs, I would. They are a bit pricey for everyday wear, though. I have 3-4 pair so I always have a clean one when I hit the trail. I recommend any hikers own at least a couple pairs of Darn Toughs in the weight and style that you prefer. These lightweights are especially nice for warm summer hiking with breathable shoes.
