My tahoe did not pass inspection this jan 2025 because of this issue with check engine tab on the the dashboard. The issue was the standard flex fuel sensor according to print out of the inspection. Only 2 weeks I had to fix this issue. I was in search at different Autoparts stores which had prices over $300. I needed a solution which at the moment couldn't waste alot$. I was worried to purchase it here in amazon b/c of the cost Being low. I read reviews which the majority had good ones. I decided to purchase this. I stop having the issue of not being able to start the vehicle and it really work with passing my inspection after 80 miles running it after installing it according to the guy where I went to. To me, it worked. I would recommened.

My sensor went bad on my 2003 Tahoe and I didn’t feel like spending $386 for the OEM part. It has been a few months now and a few thousand miles since I replaced it and it is still working.

This was easy to install. You need the GM fuel line tool to disconnect the lines, should come up as a suggested item. Simple 4 bolt removal with a 10mm socket or wrench. Remove the safety clips from the lines, use the tool to release the connectors, big end for the big line small end foe the small line. Wipe hose ends clean with a rag before connecting this new part. This item is NOT threaded like the original, there's just enough of a taper at the end to let the original self tapping bolts bite in, but DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN or you'll strip it out. Crank them in slowly until snug to the bracket and then stop or you'll be screwed. This is a hand-tool only removal and installation. You will have about 1/4 cup of fuel drain out at you so be prepared for that. No electric work lamps or smoking or it could get real interesting for you.I cleared the error code with Torque Lite app and the OBD-Link MX201. Not sure if this code self clears or not. The OBDLink is a good investment regardless.

I bought a used Yukon XL to haul my dogs around in and it had the P0178 code which is this sensor. The original one had bent fuel lines going into it and was packed in dried mud so it was a pain to remove. This was a breeze to install and once I cleared the the DTC there was no more problems. Well worth the price.
