Your cart is empty.Dasqua Grade A Granite Surface Plate The top surface of this plate is precision ground to achieve a high degree of flatness and the accuracy is +/-.0001". It is a Grade A (Grade 0) plate. Granite surface plates meet or exceed Federal Specifications GGG-P-463C and it includes a certificate of inspection. (Note that these are not NIST traceable.) Granite plates are used for measuring the flatness and squareness of other objects, laying out parts, calibrating instruments, setting up tools, checking parallelism and perpendicularity, and measuring heights with the use of a height gage. They are also used as a work surface for assembling, inspecting, and marking parts. Non-magnetic and non-conductive. Harder than steel and does not nick or burr. Surface plates are offered by HHIP in various sizes and brands, with different levels of flatness and accuracy and are checked by an auto collimator for overall accuracy assurance.

Arrived quickly, and intact. Flatness seems to be as advertised - or at least close enough the rest of my metrology tools can't tell the difference

I bought this to help me make my small cheep lathe a little better. The lathe works, but I hope to scrape the mating surfaces to improve the fit and finish. Also, I now have a known flat surface to measure from. It arrived in a small wooden crate and did not receive any shipping damage. Surprising for such a heavy item!

As an old hobbyist I wanted a plate I could move, the dimensions and weight make that possible. Since I work on small items, I'm betting on the accuracy as I have no easy way to check it.

I have no way to precisely measure it, but I’ve not seen my indicators move more than a tenth on less than high end blocks which makes me pretty happy. The copy I received is more than good enough for my home shop. Arrived in a small wooden crate inside a cardboard box so was packed decently enough.
