I didn't purchase this for it's intended purpose rather I used it as a mattress for a dog bed that I made. With that being said, I don't know much about crib mattresses as I have only owned 2 however, when comparing both of them I will say that this mattress is much more crinkly sounding. The outside material is attached around the edges only and lacks any stitching throughout the center causing it to feel pretty loose. I believe the looseness along with the thin tent-like material contributes to both a substantial loss of comfort as well as the loud crinkle noises.Since I am using this for a dog and not a baby I was able to work around these issues by adding several layers between the mattress and top bedding. I don't know if layering is an option when there is a baby involved as I am sure there are lots of safety risks to consider.Overall, this mattress worked out just fine for me however, if you are buying it as a crib mattress I would definitely consider looking for something else. With all that crinkle noise, there is no doubt in my mind that both baby and parent(s) would miss out on a lot of sleep.

I had to purchase a mini crib for my baby, and this was the mattress that matched with the crib. I honestly love it, baby sleeps fine, it is for sure waterproof as we had an accident already when my baby's diaper leaked and the mattress was completely dry!! I am not sure about the negative reviews as I don't have anything negative to say. It isn't too squishy nor overly soft. In fact, seems pretty sturdy. Def recommend for tiny cribs!

The mini crib came with a thin 2 inch pad. I added this and it is exactly what we needed.
