When I received the Dayton Audio DC200-8 8" Classic Woofers, I found they were carefully packed against any potential shipping damage. Taking them out of the box, it took me about 10 minutes to replace each of my 40-year-old woofers whose paper cones had long since disintegrated. Once they were replaced

Quality replacement woofers for some nearly 40 year old Sonys that had paper cones and had just worn out. The sound is not as rich as the originals, but the price is right. Had to cut off the connectors and solder as they were too slim to fit original connections inside the speakers, but they sound pretty good as my extra rear speakers in a surround system without spending three times as much to match my fronts, which I still will probably do in the future. For now, more than adequate.

This works great for replacing the sub-woofer speaker in an Infinity BL1. The four mounting hole spacing is a little off, but its workable without drilling new mounting holes in a slightly different location. One of the speaker's female spade connectors is polarized (the minus I believe) by being a smaller width than is commonly used - that has to be replaced with a larger female spade connector.

Bought these through Amazon because Parts Express charges tax and a ton for shipping. Drop in fit and improvement for my pawn shop 3-ways I bought. Here is what I found.PROS: Strong and deep bass. Fo resonance at 29Hz is about right. I removed my external subwoofer box because these go deep and loud enough. Very smooth response and reactive to input. Excellent for direct replacement in any 8" configurationCONS: Lowish SPL rating. Power handling is average, but better then OEM. Moves a lot of air in ported configuration...may cause a "huffing" sound when off-axis. No where near subwoofer power handling and performance...but, sounds goodCONCLUSION: A steal at their price and above average performance for replacing just about any stock 8" woofer.

Excellent value, good quallity OEM style replacement with better surround, structure and good performance. It's not a super high quality woofer like a Vifa or a Peerless, but a better woofer than most original equipment 8" woofers, by far.

I bought a pair of these to fix a set of studio monitors that needed refoaming. They sounded just ok nothing special at all and in fact were a big downgrade from the originals. The finish on the actual cones looked like it they were from a two different lines of speakers. One was rough and they other was smooth and sticky. If you end up needing to return these you end up paying shipping both ways and apparently they take a restocking fee. I ended up getting less than half of what I payed, so make sure you really want these if you buy them. I expected more from parts express.

This speaker is a perfect replacement for Realistic Nova 15- 8 inch woofer. I was concerned that it wouldn't produce the sound as equal or close to the original... I couldn't be more wrong. This speaker IMHO sounds better. Don't make the mistake of re-foaming or repairing blown speaker as I did, save your money and time, Just buy it, you won't be disappointed. I forgot to mention that they fit in the original mounting position of Nova 15 cabinet without modification or drilling new holes. However you will need to modify the speaker connection wire in the cabinet to fit to speakers, a real simple fix.

45年前のSANSUI　SP-X1（密閉型）がそろそろ寿命で改造。25ｃｍウーファー（40Ｈｚ～）を外し、その代わりにとデイトンの20ｃｍを購入。バッフルの6割ほどを切り取り、現物合わせで自作したバッフル板を中へ入れ、元のバッフル板の裏側へ固定。同時にバスレフ型に改造したため、吸音材は大幅に減らし、ウーファー位置は下寄りから中央付近に変更、ツイーターも上へずらした。おかげでバッフル板の見た目はひどいが、JBLとSANSUIが提携していた頃の木の格子のカバーを付けることで隠した。この格子への愛着で捨てられなかったもの。バスレフポートは３種ほど試し、断面積が小さめの33Hzを狙ったものを採用。低音がふんだんに出てきて、同じ音楽でも別物に聞こえる事もある。重低音が、ややボヨンとした音に聞こえる事があるのは、調整やエイジングで変わるものなのか、原音がその音なのか不明。でも、そう気にはならず、低音を楽しんでいる。バロック中心からジャズやポップスを聞く比率が増えた。たまに重低音が大音量で録音されている曲があり、驚く。自作バックロードホーン（13ｃｍスピーカー）と聞き比べると、低音の伸びは同等に聞こえる。バックロードホーン（BH）のわずかに出てくる残響音（？）や広い低音域での絶妙なボリュームレベルが臨場感につながっている気がして、わずかにBHの方が役者が上という印象。ユーチューブの周波数が徐々に上がっていく音源を試すと、デイトンでは20Hzからごく小さな音が聞こえ出したのに対し、自作BHでは30Hz辺りが聞こえ始めだった。どちらも50Hz辺りから上はまあまあの音量になった。（あくまで私の聞こえ方です。耳に自信があるわけではありません）ウーファ径を小さくしたのに低音がぐっと増えて音楽の楽しみアップ。いい改造ができ満足です。

40年経ったオンキョー製スピーカーのウーファーがボロボロだったので、交換しました。音質の良し悪しはよくわかりませんが、手頃な価格でそれなりに鳴ってます。満足してます。

手持ちのブックシェルフ型SPに追加のウーファー（自作エンクロージャー）として購入しました。低音の量感不足が解消されて満足しています。音の輪郭は多少ぼやけますが、そこは次の課題として、現時点では期待どうりの結果が得られたと思います。価格の割には十分な性能のユニットだと思います。

国内正規品ながら、箱に日本語表記無し。英文字から設計はUSA、製造は台湾とわかるのみ。取扱説明書や仕様書、保証書、周波数特性グラフなど周辺資料なども皆無。同等品との取替えであればよしとするか。
