DC Multifunction Battery Monitor Meter

The PZEM-015 DC multifunction battery monitor meter is mainly used to test all kinds of battery’s voltage, discharge current, discharge power, discharge impedance, internal resistance, capacity, SOC, energy,running time, and display the measurement data through LCD screen.

Display interface is large-screen LCD, it can display nine parameters at the same time

  1. Voltage: Measuring range: 0-200V；Minimum Resolution: 0.01V (when the test voltage is ＜8V, please use the independent power supply mode)
  2. Current: Measuring range: 0-300A. The starting test current: 20mA
  3. Power: Measuring range: 0-60000W, Starting measure power: 0.2W
  4. Impedance: Measuring range: 0-1000Ω
  5. SOC Percentage Display:Displays the percentage of power remaining
  6. Capacity: Measuring range: 0-1000AH.
  7. SOC: Dump energy is display via the battery symbol, totally 10 grids, every grid present 10% energy.

This is more of a diagnostic tool, not a shunt that will track current in and out of a battery (which is what I wanted). I have another shunt that tracks both directions and will accurately show current state of charge (SoC). Sadly, this device doesn't do this.

I decided to try one of these cheap meters.. big mistake. Waited a long time to get it, allegedly shipped from Los Angeles but not so. From China and a drop box used in Los Angeles, CA. 10A setup did not work, aH incorrect reading... and could not set it. I have used other similar meters but they were $60 to $80 and worked perfectly. All this garbage just delayed my project (again). Should have bought the other meter like before. Do not buy.

Accuracy is questionable.The voltage reading does not match the reading from 4 other meters; it is lower.The current (amp) is also questionable. With the shunt disconnected from the battery, the meter show a current of 2A, that would actualy be recharging the battery. How is this possible if the shunt is disconnected from the battery???

Okay, typical Chinese stuff with complicated programming options that aren’t intuitive and instructions that are poorly translated. Once you figure it out tho, it works fine and does the job. Not as precise as a Victron smart shunt, but it’s close enough to confidently see what’s going on with your battery. Oh and it is 6 times cheaper than a Victron shunt, so if you just want to monitor a small 12V battery, it’ll do you good service.

Product used on RV to monitor Lithium batteries. Easy to program limits, battery capacity, and other factors. Bright readable display. In my application only 4 wires to connect.
