This is probably the best mouthpiece at it's price point. It is quite good and will serve beginners through advanced intermediate students very well. It is actually quite similar to at $250 mouthpiece made by the same manufacturer for advanced students.If you are a parent shopping for your child, you should be aware that the mouthpieces that come with most instruments are terrible. Yamaha is about the only brand that includes a decent mouthpiece. It is important to upgrade the mouthpiece immediately. Having a decent mouthpiece will make the instrument easier to play and it will sound better. For students having trouble "crossing the break", upgrading their mouthpiece to this or something similar may make all the difference.Highly recommended

Much less effort for the same "acceptable" beginner and beginner/intermediate overall tonality as the Yamaha 3C, 4c, OEM Selmer, Vandoren B40 and B45, and the Behn Overture Clarinet Mouthpieces when compared with a Selmer and with a Yamaha Bb Clarinets and the same reed.Price is outstanding.

I wanted to replace the unbranded mouthpiece of my Vito rental clarinet and I tried the three that are most popular: Yamaha 4C, Hite Premier, Fobes Debut. Although they are all an affordable step-up from a cheap mouthpiece, I found the Fobes Debut to the best of the three by far. Easy to play, warm sound, easy to go to the high register. Balanced. I can't believe that this little gem costs around $30.00! Highly recommended.

I got this to use while I teach someone else the clarinet. There is only one clarinet between us, so I wanted to be able to put this on and learn at the same time--don't worry, it's family. This one is twice as hard to produce sound with, but makes a much better sound. I honestly thought this was an intermediate mouthpiece, so rated it a 4 for beginners. It sounds better than the other mouthpiece and will take some getting used to. Specifically, it is louder and produces a fuller sound. Alongside with a dark ligature, it really produces a beutiful sound, and I look forward to clarinet being my second instrument to Euphonium.

The first time I ordered this for my clarinet, it never came to my dorm, hence the lower review, although I know that likely isn't the fault of the company itself but shipping and Amazon. It was very disappointing, but my mom ordered me one for Christmas and it works pretty well. It is a good mouthpiece for beginners and will improve the sound quality and tone of a student clarinetist greatly just by using this instead of the factory mouthpieces they often receive with their instruments.

The tone I got was much better vs stock mouthpiece. It’s a great price for what you get. I also was able to reach the higher clarion register much easier without squeaking. My sound was less “airy†as well, meaning I don’t hear the air I blow through the instrument anymore if that makes sense. 10/10 for me.
