DEFECTIVE OUT OF THE BOX. IN A COMPLETELY QUIET ROOM THE READOUT JUMPS CONTINUOUSLY FROM 40 TO 130 AND IN BETWEEN. YES THE CALIBRATION WAS ATTEMPTED 10 TIMES TO INSURE IT WAS DONE CORRECTLY.

Only thing preventing this from getting 5 stars was the ability to customize the meter (red, yellow and green) with my own decibel settings. The ones they are set for are a bit conservative.

SoDays I could just talk in a normal voice in the phone and it would go orange. Other days my 5 year old twins could be screaming at each other and it stays green

Fortunately this device was not expensive but it is a poor choice. The temperature reading is never accurate when compared with two other thermometers and most annoyingly the battery life is terrible so if its not plugged in basically it uses up battery in a few hours and shuts down. I would not purchase it again.

As an audio professional, the only thing I have to say about this meter is that it is so inaccurate that it is dangerous. Nobody should be using this if they really need to monitor decibel levels.
