Simple and effective. Used it on my previous bike and it solved the chain drop issue. Liked it more than N Gear Jump Stop (which also works but does not maintain position as well as Deda Dog).Would like to use it on my current bike as well but the tube is oversized and the Deda Dog does not fit.

At about $16, i think this product is overpriced. However, there also are few alternatives to this item of a similar design and this one is of higher quality (better hardware, more durable feeling plastic) and so I bought it. However, the item does not work in my application. I have a new Specialized Chisel mtn bike with a 1x drive train and there is simply no way to position this so that the gap between the chain and this product is small enough to prevent the chain from falling off. See my photo for the gap and the max projection of the guide from the seat tube.

I had my bike shop build up a new Lynskey Helix frame using Campy Chorus running gear. Everything worked great except when shifting from the large chainring to the small one the chain had a bad habit of jumping off inside the small chainring. Very annoying.I had read good things about the Deda Dog Fang and they are quite inexpensive so I ordered one and installed it on my Lynskey. After several months the downshifts to the small chainring have worked perfectly. Not once has it fallen off onto the bottome bracket. My only complaint is that you have to go to the Deda website to find installation instructions since they are not included with the product, but this is a small thing.I have now installed a Deda Dog Fang on my other bike and it works perfectly also. Good product which does what it is supposed to do. I recommend it.

The reason for the two stars is because this did not work for bike frame and should be noted in the description. “Not for use with carbon frames with a flared seat tube at the bottom bracket” as mine does. This is strictly made for frames that are the same size from top to bottomThe material is pretty good quality... light weight flexible plastic and easy to install, value for the money is perfect if it fits your frame as intended.

I have a Specialized Roubaix Pro bike with Dura-Ace/Integra components and a FSA crank. Chain was awful about falling off to the inside. Not just under pressure (like in the middle of a hill climb) but on the flat road before the hill. Bike shop tried and tried to fix it but ended up saying I just needed to go with a Shimano crank to match the rest of my components. Ever price a Dura-Ace crank? Big money. I bought this little guy after seeing them on pro's bikes on the TDF and I've never made a better purchase. It's like I have a different bike. I can shift from by big to small chain ring (I ride a compact) anywhere - including mashing as hard as I can going up a steep hill - and it drops onto that small ring perfectly EVERY TIME. I've not had a dropped chain since I bought it and I've put about 1000 miles on my bike since then. As with almost everything in life, your mileage may vary, but it works great for me.

I bought this chain keeper for my serious business Wilier carbon bike, and a Redline chain keeper for my cheapie second hand Bianchi aluminum project bike. Both keepers have the all same markings in the same places and, for all intents and purposes, appear entirely identical. The Redline is few bucks cheaper, so save some cash and go for the Redline over the Deda.

Absolutely fixed my chain dropping problem! Now I can attack those steep climbs without having to stop and put my chain back on. Easy to install - Google "Dog Fang" pics and you will find a diagram on how to mount it on your bike. Make sure to measure the seat stay diameter because the Dog Fang comes in different sizes.

Before you buy just check the size that you require. This fits like a glove it is perfect it works quite well just leave it millimetre above the chain sprocket
