The original strainer on my Lexus LS400 had a 120 bend in it. This doesn't sit flush in the fuel pump.

My '89 Sidekick has a metal baffle that forms a well in the tank that's 5"x5" or so. The pump assembly sits down into this well. This type of strainer sticks out too far so the assembly can't be installed. If you buy a Denso or Bosch,etc. replacement pump, they require buying a new strainer for the warranty. They both use this type of strainer that will NOT work. The OEM strainer is totally different from this one.

I will fit a 1997 f53 but very tight , internal filter, could not find the external one anywhere
