Both bathrooms have been dripping for a while now. I installed the old ones way back in 1992 when I built my house and they were the old style Delta 1500 series. I had been dreading replacing them because the 1500 series was replaced by the 1700 series. and the last thing that I wanted was to get into a big project and to find out the parts did not fit. Online searches were about 50/50 as to if these would work. Everything fit right up and worked great except for the Escutcheon plates, this are the big round plate behind the valve. The 1500 series has two mounting holes on the bottom at 5 and 7 o'clock. The newer ones are on a diagonal at 8 and 2 o'clock and do not fit the old valve. The old plates a NLA, I got lucky and with some auto chrome polish and auto wax, my old ones came back to life and look like new. Easy to install, many online videos. One thing to watch out for is to only tighten the outer temperature valve up until the handle is not wobbly and no more. I did both bathrooms and leaks are gone. Jeff

This kit did the job of letting me replace the leaking valves in my old 1500 model faucet with parts to make it look like the new 1700 model. The new model is really prettier than the original 1500 so I am very happy. On top of that it came with a new shower head which is much nicer than the old one in sleakness and water flow management - it uses less water but seems almost as good at rinsing off the soap as my old more water-wasteful unit. The lower water flow while still giving good jet action from the head means I can hear my phone play news or music over the water when I set it on top of the door which I could never do before. It came with all the parts needed to completely refurbish the old unit - everything except the housing that is mounted to the water pipes comes in the kit. Be aware that the instructions that come with it are absolutely dismal. They are incomplete, incomplete, incomplete. Terrible. So pay close attention to how thins come apart when you take out your old valve so you have some better idea than the instructions will give you on how to put the new parts back in. But you will have to think a lot to get it done right Fortunately if you call Delta customer service they are very helpful and will answer all your questions. I talked to them about three times to get it done. Josh and Tey were the guys I worked with and seemed to be the likely ones to get since I got one of them twice on random calls. The faucet works beautifully now and is gorgeous. Also be sure to keep the screws that mount the chrome disk around the faucet to the wall - in my case the new screws were a different length than the originals and might be too short for some situations. Figuring out how to snap on the small nob that controls the temperature is tricky but important. It only goes on one way and it just snaps in place. Hook one side in to the spot designed for it and then snap other side in place. Removal requires just prying up from the place that snaps last- record this for your records so you know where to pry in future and don't pry on the non-snap end and break the thing! Once it is on it is impossible to tell which end is the snap and which is the mounted end.

Would have given it 5 stars except for the following. As previously stated, the instructions suck...'nuf said. Product was not offered in any finish except chrome. I guess that's what you get when you're trying to stick to the lower end of cost. The temperature control knob is chrome finished plastic. Really? They couldn't spring for metal? Not a deal-breaker, but dumb. Again, as someone has already stated, the actual shower head is a rather large, goofy-bell-shaped deal. Nevertheless, it works quite well. The last item was a bit of a mystery. Everything was chrome in my kit except the shower flange that fits over the pipe against the wall. The flange that was included was white. I will just pay 99 cents at my local hardware store and buy a chrome replacement. Too much trouble to bitch to the seller. Overall it was a relatively simple conversion that allowed me to ditch my ugly, corroded, poorly-functioning 1500 series with this 1700 series.

I needed a replacement for my single handle monitor but ended up with the complete Delta kit. I used only the part i needed so now I am left with un necessary parts.My part is working well, but a pity i had tp purchase the entire delta kit to acquire the handle monitor

I have ordered two of these and am returning both as neither of them have the temperature control knob or limit stop in the package. I've ordered a third one to see if it has all the parts. If not, I'll see if Delta can remedy.

Included everything that was needed to convert my old 1500-series Monitor faucet to the 1700-series. Cleaner look, less bulky design. Instructions are very straightforward.

The kit had all components needed and more. While many of the components felt cheaper than the 1500 series I was replacing, I still think the kit is a great value. My experience with any plumbing projects is extremely limited, but the entire conversion from Delta 1500 to 1700 series took me about an hour. I'd suggest finding a video, maybe two on Youtube to help guide installation.

Update:We called Delta and they sent us the correct cartridge. Our shower is now working.Original:We received the rp46463 cartridge with this kit rather than the advertised rp32104 cartridge. The instruction manual even lists that rp32104 is the product to use. The dilemma is that the instructions and the rest of the equipment require one slot on the side of the cartridge; however, the one we received (rp46463) has two and will not work with the shower system. We cannot proceed with fixing our shower until this error is corrected.

Fits old monitor 1500 series, but not the best or smooth to turn. Feels cheap plastic almost for temp change. Handle is heavy though.
