Fits on the lower intake manifold next to the thermostat as long as you don’t have a Bi metal vacuum valve(22re). It’s nice so far. I used loctite pst to make sure the threads are sealed and let it dry for a day. Wired up nicely didn’t have to extend any wires but if you want to have it really hidden you will have to extend some wires. I used an T tap into the power wire for the ignition on the windshield wiper cleaner thing next to the battery. Tapped into the ac by using a T tap on the wire that comes out of the ac compressor and connects to the wire harness. It’s really easy to install. If you’re really picky and want to know when the fans turn on/off exactly you may want to upgrade to a digital one but this one is good enough for me.

It works perfectly fine and adjusts to exactly what temp you like the fan to turn on. I bought two because I also bought the Derale two speed fan thinking it would be best to use two controllers in case one failed. The problem I ran into is that the fan controller works off from the negative side rather then the positive side so I was only able to use one controller and am left with a one speed fan. Luckily I had built a custom made shroud so I only needed the low speed anyway. Now I have a spare controller in case the other goes out so I'm still covered in case I have a failure :-)

On derale website says it’s covered under 1 year warranty. They give you the run around between amazon and derale can’t get it covered. Not worth the headache. Tested yellow wire have ignition voltage good power and ground checked all wires just not quality part

I have used seversl of these for customers and never had a complaint. It works for a single fan or dual fans. Easy install with step by step instructions.

I have been using this controller for a v8-swapped Jeep TJ off-roading rig. The wiring is clean, it handles the load from a single fan well. The sensor threads fit the aftermarket radiator in my Jeep, which is why I originally bought it. I have had a couple relay failures, since when I'm off-roading at low speed, the fan is almost always on for hours at a time. I replaced the relay with a heavier duty-cycle HD relay and that solved that issue. BUT, in my first unit, the control board itself failed in a year. It would not turn on the fan based on temp, only when using the A/C bypass wire. I bought the same piece again, since I like the function and I really don't want to re-wire the whole system, build a new mount, etc. It was much easier to plug and play the new board and keep all my nice clean wiring intact. The second unit has now failed after three years. It will not turn on the fan based on water temp or with the override. If I unplug the harness and jump the ground across, the fan comes on. I find that life-span to be somewhat acceptable, with the level of abuse my wheeling rig gets. The unit is mounted under the hood on the inner fender, so there's a fair amount of vibration and occasional splashing. Hopefully the third unit will hold up a little better. If this third one fails, I may bite the bullet and re-wire my fan with something a little more robust. If you're not constantly smashing your vehicle over rocks, you may have better luck with this unit than I have.

One problem I ran across. The discription fails to mention that it does not have a fitting/adaptor for the temp guage wire. The sensor in the kit is just for the fan controller. No accomadations for the temp guage. The temp sensor I replaced had a nut/screw that you attached the temp guage wire to.Solution: I had to tap into an elbow fitting off the intake manifold and install the old temp sensor fitting with the fitting for the wire.In the end, I had two run two temp sensors to do the job of one. Luckily for me the old sensor was good - just the fan controller module was bad.

This fan controller works very well if you are installing a new electrical radiator fan to replace a older clutch fan. I really like the adjustable feature with the fan controller. You can adjust when the fan will turn on in relation to the engine temperature, which is very handy. I installed it on my 1994 Toyota Pickup and it works great!
