This Virginia Tech tie looks like ones you'd get from the bookstore. The colors are vibrant and match the Tech color scheme. Son will probably only wear once (at graduation) but tie looks good enough for that.

As a VT alumnus, I find most of the school-related professional apparel to be over-the-top and gaudy. While I love the unique maroon and orange Hokie colors, they can come off like wearing a neon sign and only seem appropriate at VT-themed functions or as party attire.This polyester tie offers the look and feel of a nice quality silk tie. The subtle “VT†logo at the bottom left adds a nice degree of school-pride without the “lets go party†look. I’ve been looking for a more subtle Hokie-themed tie … one that doesn’t have a giant “VT†planted in the middle or Hokie Bird footprints all over the place … this is the tie I’ve been looking for … well done!

As an alumni of this fine university I have to say these colors are sacred. And they got the colors perfectly represented on this tie. The quality of the fabric is so smooth and nice, I'm not worried about a loose thread pulling this tie apart, and I expect a full lifetime for this garment. My coworkers are all very impressed with the look
