Though history hasn't been kind to the tyrannical monarchy of his reign, this bust statue of the ruler the Romans feared is important for the history and culture it represents. Caracalla fancied himself a military genius, the reincarnation of Alexander the Great. Our impressively, life-size sculptural bust is cast in quality designer resin with a faux stone finish as a sophisticated statement piece for home or gallery. This is the Roman emperor Caracalla. He was a ruthless tyrant. Thus, as others have mentioned, do not mix him up with THE Marcus Aurelius who lived before Caracalla was even born.In our house, Caracalla found a place because of the history connected. It’s a beautiful work of art and looks much more expensive than it is. It looks very similar to an original that is currently for auction at SB’s.This one is large, but not overly heavy. Thus, one relatively strong storm will topple the bust over I’m sure. Not a problem for us, since we keep it inside.

He's Gorgeous. Marcus has so much expression on his face. I often wonder what he is thinking. It is Our favorite piece in the house. I Priced these busts everywhere. Toscano has the best $$ and the quality is unsurpassable. He is so Stoic. We love Marcus. Oh, and it was Safely & meticulously packaged. It could have gone through a typhoon/earthquake, then a Blizzard and still would not have had a chip or scratch on him!!!

This is without question the Roman Emperor Caracalla. It's funny in that the two could not be more different in their styles of managing the empire. If you buy this, please don't embarrass yourself by telling anyone it's Marcus Aurelius.UPDATE: I posted this review about a year ago and it's still listed as Marcus Aurelius... To be fair, Caracalla's legal name was "Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus Augustus" but let's be honest... there's only one emperor we think of when we hear the name "Marcus Aurelius" and it sure as heck isn't Caracalla. Same reason we don't confuse Gaius Caesar with Gaius Ceasar AKA Caligula. Fix this highly deceptive listing please.Update: title was fixed, enjoy your Caracalla busts everyone.
