Arrived with a few tiny pieces broken inside but it seems to work fine & it's quiet. It says it holds about 1/2 gallon but I'd say it's half that. Cats curious but haven't drank from it yet, I like it because it came basically put together already, just had to read instructions and fill at bottom with water then turn on. Will post an update in a week!

I love this little fountain!!! Very well made, a heavier resin. Nice solid little thing. I tried this out first with the electric pump it came with. The pump itself was quiet, the water makes a nice trickle sound as it runs. The light is in the middle bowl only, and has a cord inside that plugs into the electric pump. I was concerned about access to the pump based on another review saying it was quite small and tricky, because I wanted to switch the electric pump out to a solar water pump instead. It wasn't too bad though, took a little bit of wrangling to get the pumps in and out, but do-able. You can unplug the light from the electric pump easily. There is a panel that slides on to cover the opening for the water reservoir once you get the pump connected and the water poured in. The fountain itself is quite small, but the quality is nice. I included some photos so you can get a better idea of the openings and connections, the size, and the overall look. If you do buy a solar pump to run it, you probably aren't going to be able to connect or use the light, and the water flow will most likely run only when the sun hits the panel directly, however I prefer the fountain without the light anyhow, and not paying for the electricity makes up for it only running when the sun is shining. I would make sure though, if the fountain is outdoors, that it is in a covered area such as a deck or porch, and not subjected to the elements too much. Update: As much as I love this fountain, I just deducted one star from it (originally I have given it five stars), because the way it is designed- if your water flow slows to a trickle (low water in fountain, or if -with a solar water pump- the sunlight is running the water, but not full force) it does have a tendency to trickle the water over the edge of the middle tier and through that opening down the back and leaves a puddle on the table. If the back was solid, without that opening, this probably would not happen, it would just drain down into the bottom tier I'd guess. The nice part is that it is fairly avoidable if you make sure the water level doesn't run low with either style of pump, however in the case of running it on a solar pump I still do get a bit of flooding on my outdoor table from time to time due to sporadic weak sunlight slowing the water flow. Keeping the water tank filled daily or every other day significantly helps though. Just a slight drawback I'd say to the design. I still am glad I purchased this fountain.

It's small, fits well on top of marble vanity top and totally revamps the atmosphere of the bathroom, with its lighting. Placed a silk plant behind it... even my cat loves it.

Pure trash. I f I could give it zero stars I would. The pump is tiny any hard to get to. There is a small panel in the back of the fountain and you can barely reach the pump. Once you get the pump connected to hose, it's almost impossible to get the pump flat on the bottom of the fountain. Save your money.

To start, the trick with keeping this fountain from leaking is to watch carefully that you not to overfill it with water. You'll need enough water in there so that it doesn't splash everywhere, but if it becomes over filled, when you turn the fountain off, the water reservoir in the back can overflow because all the water in the reservoir is now overflowing with the water left over in the bowls that flows through. So when you initially set this up, I'd suggest doing so somewhere like the kitchen where water can spill out and it won't damage anything. Find the right water levels by filling it then turning it off and see if any water overflows from the back reservoir. If it doesn't overflow out the back, then you're all set.I can see why there are a number of people who are disappointed with this fountain, but it just happen to work out perfectly for me. They aren't kidding when they call this desk-size in the description. I had originally thought about setting this up outside with my flowers on a flower shelf, but I wasn't comfortable with having the power adapter outside there in the direct elements. It says specifically in the directions not to get the adapter wet, so if you're thinking of sitting this outside somewhere on a patio or such, it will need to be somewhere that the power cord won't get wet.So after reading that, I realized I wasn't going to be setting it up outside after all and I started to look around to figure out where else it could go. The water can/does somewhat splash a little. Not much, but there's a light mist and enough that you won't want to put this on a wooden surface or it could ruin it.So my next thought was in my master bathroom. It did actually look really cute set up next to the Jacuzzi tub, with soaps and candles and such around it. But then I found the PERFECT spot for it. Our family pet lizard's cadge. And after using it for this, it seems like this would be even better sold as a pet cadge product than a regular home decoration. Some lizards can't see standing water. So they ether need something with a constant drop, trickle or need to be given water in other ways (baths, misting, etc). I took one look at our pet lizard's cadge and I realized this fountain was not only perfect for it, it's like it was made for it. We have our lizard in a 40 gal breeder style aquarium and this fountain was an unbelievably perfect fit for it. And the lizard loves it.So I'd say this is a great little fountain for a bathroom, or a perfect fountain for a reptiles cadge. But I wouldn't suggest it for outdoor use unless you can keep it out of the elements. And definitely don't set it up anywhere on a wood surface, if for no other reason because someone could bump it and water could spill out that way too.

Look at the dimensions, this cute little fountain is under a foot tall. And yes, it is a cute little fountain, suitable more for indoor use i would say.The cats love playing with the water, and even drinking from it, even though they have specialized cat drinking fountains.Nice , relaxing tinkling water sounds. It is small, it is hard to get to the pump. Very poorly worded instructions.Cute but small, I'd say fine for your bathroom sink counter. Nice little nite lite too.

They should give details of specification I guess they deliberately miss it out as I thought it is bigger than it is actually beside they send it the item with wrong specification the AC adaptor is not compatible with what I have in NEw Zealand

Easy to put together, the water sound is beautiful. I have it on my deck outside

Works great and looks good. Love the light as it gives the fountain a mysterious quality. Only once in awhile, the flow is spontaneously too intense and splatters water outside of the fountain. This is easily adjusted by reaching into the back panel, and decreasing the motor speed.

This water fountain has a nice design but such a small installation window on its back that even a child's fingers would not squeeze in to press down the suction cups of the water pump to the inside of the too small water reservoir. Bought based on manufacturer's description but being returned unused for its small reservoir would not accommodate enough water to create the sound stated it produces. My Conair water fountain lasted 15 years until the pump stopped working last winter.

Although advertised for outdoor - really should be an indoor piece. Harsh Canadian weather a bit too much for this little guy.
