I ended up installing this latch on my Jeep to secure the swing arm for my spare tire, which it works perfectly for. My spare tire carrier isn't exactly light, with the tire alone weighing close to 90 lbs, and the arm about the same, which it secures tightly. I like that it pulls the slack all in one action as it locks closed, and is still easy to unlock, but hold secure unless specifically unlocking. Well designed and built tough.

I got these units to hold down a trailer during transit on the road, and they lock down very tight and secure. With the lock down feature, this hold down will not pop loose during transit, no matter how bumpy it is. Well made, they should last a lifetime! A bit pricey, but well worth the money for what you get.

I thought I was ordering the De Sta Co latches I used in the past on tire carrier bumpers. NOPE. I meant to return them but forgot. They are Power wheels jeep size...not real jeep size.

The quality of the handle isn’t pretty good but man, this U bolt is TRASH! The one side the nut will not thread on for the life of me. It’s all banged up and is pretty poor quality. Pretty disappointing.

Exact replacement for 43456 OEM Toggle Mast Hold Down Clamp used on Genie towable boom lift at less that 1/3 the cost. $180 on both Amazon and Ebay.

These things are perfect to hold my ramp on my trailer! Welded them so they will never come off. Just wish there was an easy way to put a lock on it so it can't be opened. Other than that, love them!
