Apply immediately so the dye mixture is as hot as possible to achieve the most permanent results. Left over dye can be reheated to the recommended 150 degrees for any future applications. Very small container, I bought it to dye my car carpet .... it was barely enough for 1/4 of the carpet and the result was not good
