The DeWalt DW317 is a solid choice for most DIYers. It's got enough power for most woodworking projects, and the orbital action makes cutting curves a breeze. The keyless blade clamp is a real time-saver, and the overall build quality feels pretty sturdy. It's not the most powerful jigsaw out there, but for the price, it's hard to beat.

Description indicates a case included but does not have one. Disappointed that I will have to find a case or carrying bag. As a stockholder, need to be sure that the description are correct. Could have brought a another brand cheaper like a Skil, Craftman, etc that would have included a carrying case.

Bought this to replace my 30-year old Craftsman jig saw that finally died; should have bought this one years ago. This guy is quite powerful, eating it's way through 2x4 wood without slowing down, and providing a nice clean cut on all materials so far. Metal cutting also has been impressive (only thin stuff).There are four cutting motions available: straight up and down and three different orbital modes. I've been using the full orbital mode for wood and it quickly eats it's way through a board. The weight isn't too bad; it helps keep your line when cutting through thicker materials. The saw blades attach with a quick-release lever; no tools needed and very easy to do. So far, I haven't had any blade wandering like with my old saw.The base plate can reverse 180-degrees to provided a smaller opening for the blade when cutting thinner or narrower materials. There is a lock button for power, and the cord is the now-standard 6 feet long. The body is a combination of metal and plastic but so far seems very well-made.This come with just one blade, so be prepared to buy a few more for different woods and metals.Dewalt has some fancier jig saws, but this one was a good purchase.

This jig/skill saw is a beast!Cuts through medium density wood like butter.The quick release is great for replacing blades but also prevents damage if blades gets bound up by releasing the blade before it can break.

I've been using a 20+ year old jigsaw for years so my perspective may be off. But this baby RIPS. Makes curves in a 2x4 as easily as my circular saw makes straight cuts. Put it in orbital level 3 and you could cut through anything. Note that it's REALLY hard to make tight curves when using the orbital feature so drop it to 0.Great value, really heavy in hand, and makes a nice clean cut.

This is another great Dwalt product. The blades are a snap to change and it has a stability that my cheaper ones don't. Why didn't I step up to this long ago?

I was struggling with a cheaper jigsaw and got tired of it so I ordered this Dewalt one. It is great! Quiet, accurate, easy to use and durable. Great value for the money. Makes the job much easier!

Y, también es importante observar que el ángulo de corte lo puedes ajustar, por lo que siempre hay que revisar este parámetro si solo vas a cortar en 90 grados o perpendicular al material. Es muy fácil cambiar de posición de ángulo, y el sistema te asegura que se quedará asÃ, pues está construido muy resistente.Ya trabajando con esta sierra, es muy potente, por lo que hay que mantener tu brazo firme, y tratar de relajar tu postura cuando realices varios cortes consecutivos pues la sentirás más pesada.TenÃa un montón de pedazos de madera que no se llevaba el camión de la basura, y los reduje a menos de un cuarto de espacio muy fácilmente y en poco tiempo de manera muy segura usando la caladora, les dejo fotos.En resumen, una herramienta que necesitas siempre, y que mejor que adquirir una con la calidad DeWalt y con amplias funciones.

Good, dependable product. Replaces my old Black and Decker and is several leagues above.I really like the quick-release for the blade, BUT I suspect it won't accommodate generic blades - seems to spit them out, which could be dangerous. I suspect I have to buy/use DeWalt blades only.
