I finally got tired of dealing with the clouds of dust from my DeWalt saws and sanders so I broke down and bought this piece. It does work pretty well but I have to say I was disappointed that DeWalt makes their diehard fans buy 2 pieces because neither functions without the other. For those looking, you need DWV9000 to connect to the tool itself and this item DWV9190 to connect that connector to your standard ShopVac hose. In the end, I am happy with it and you will be too!

This is an adapter to an adapter. Screws into the DWV9000 tool port adapter to make it possible to connect that to a common 2 1/4" shopwac hose (such as a large Ridgid Vac) possible.Likes: It is a good solution. The combo works reasonably well. If you want an easy solution, and do not mind throwing money at the problem. this is the way to go, and this is what I did.Dislikes: You need to buy 2 adapters (this, and the toolport adapter), spending over $40 to accomplish this simple task. If you are a DIY type, you can probably Rube Goldberg something together that "sort of works", for a third of the money.

I wanted to attach my DeWalt Orbital sander DWE6423K to my Rigid shop Vac. The large end of large hose adapter DWV 9190 fits on my Rigid Vac, however, you need to also purchase DeWalt universal quick connector DWV 9000 which attaches to the port on the sander. When I finally received both pieces it didn’t seem to fit properly. It seemed like the sander port on the orbital sander was much to small for the DWV 9000 universal quick connect. The DWV9000 Universal quick connect has a lock and unlock along the rim which you can see underneath the rim. You have to twist to the lock position to secure the quick connect to your DeWalt orbital sander 6423K. Also you need to turn (screw) the small end of the DWV 9190 large hose adapter into the smaller end of the universal quick connect DWV9000. If you attach the Universal Quick Connect DWV9000 to the sander and then screw this Large Hose Adapter DWV9190 (small end) into the DWV Universal quick connect (small end) it screws into it by turning it left rather than right. finally you push the large hose adapter (DWV9190) onto your shop vac hose. I am not mechanically inclined. I figured I would add this point for others.

I have a DeWalt DW708 miter saw and although this dust collector adapter can be used the saw is just not made for dust collection. I really wanted this to work but I'll just have to use the saw outdoors.

There are times when your shop vac just won't adapt to the DeWalt dust collection ducting, this adapter allows for the larger hose on a shop vac to be adapted to the quick disconnect adapter on DeWalt tools. My only drawback is how restricted the opening is where the connection is made, throttling it down a little bit too much. I found another way to make my hose fit the proper adapter and returned this one unused.

After spending countless trips to Big Blue, Big Orange, and Big Green (in the Midwest) I have a dust adapter to a Rigid shop vacuum. I learned there are a lot of different hose sizes and few are compatible. This adapter will connect a 2 1/4" Rigid hose to the DWV9000 quick connect. The description states it will connect to a 2 1/2" hose but the packaging clearly states 2 1/4". (See photos) It's a nice fit to the quick connect. An interesting note: the threads are reverse threaded -- not sure why but they are. Certainly doesn't help the compatibility issues.

THE UNIT FITS WELL AND DOES THE JOB ITS MADE FOR SADLEY YOU SHOULD GET THESE ADDAPTERS WHEN YOU BUY THE TOOLS IN MY CASE A VACUM AND A MITRE SAW

Fits my RIGID shop vac and DeWalt Table saw. MAKE SURE you buy the attachment though! You will need this to fit it on your saw.
