I mistakenly ordered this black set without realizing they were "impact" sockets with the rough surface texture and the retention hole. The ratchet is smooth black chrome, and I love it. Great feel, comfortable handle (these would be true of the regular chrome finish version), and very nice looking in its black chrome finish! Too bad the non-impact socket set isn't available in this great-looking black chrome finish! (I returned the impact version and bought a regular set. Happy with it.)If you wanted impact sockets, this seems like a very nice set at a reasonable price. (And the ratchet is great!)

i got this as a way to start out my 1/2" impact socket set w the basics for mm / sae. it was on sale for black friday so i got it on a helluva deal which was all the more incentive.. its got your basic most used sizes in the reg/short style sockets. and i can easily add on to this as they offer deep/tall impact socket sets that will match w this fairly well. plus you can just buy singles for those odds n ends that arent included but youd like to have.the quality of build on these are top notch, hefty solid sockets that immediately upon holding u can tell will stand up to whatever you throw at em. the si,es on the socket walls arent the hardest ever to see,, but theyre most certainly not the greatest when it comes to visibility; but you can see them no prob all the same so its of no concern.the sockets have a cutout hole for ball detends which is nice so these wont pop off easily. and when situating them on a impact wrench w a hog ring, they sit down the anvil very well.. some ive seen will only get halfway down n get caught up but not these. the ones ive tried so far all have a solid tight grip so no wobble from the wrench or impact, and the hex head side is very solid too which is good as they wont tend to slip as much as if they were more wide open.the wrench itself is biig. not overly big but big and solid. the ratcheting mechanism is very very fine quality w at least a 70 tooth (if not more) drive head.smooth operation and the switch between forward and backward is very positive; no half steppin here.I love how it comes in these Dewalt set cases, as i have several from other previous sets like the ratcheting wrench sets, or 1/4" socket sets.. they all comnect together well and are easy to carry connect and see into... i just wish these cases were compatible with Dewalts toughcase+ /tstak lines,, it seems they dropped the ball on that one by changing the formua...which is even more a downer seeing as they have 2 other 1/2" impact socket sets w the deep Metric and deep standard sets and it woulda been great to have those all sitting on top of my tstak drawers w toughcases conneted on the top for a complete set ... but i guess ill live ..all in all its a great set for the price, the quality and value are well worth it, and they dont seem like theyll let u down anytime within this decade

I’ve bought this twice nice. Only because I lost the first set (possibly stolen). But I liked the quality of the tools enough and the see through case that also stands out with the yellow. When I’m looking through my tools in the garage and need my sockets, it catches my eye right away and I know where they are. I bought a different set in a pinch and the tool literally broke on the first crank. I knew I had to order this product again right away. On my second set now and they work great and feel strong.

When someone asks for socket wrenches for Christmas, you think it would be easy to choose a set and wrap them up. However, I quickly learned that there are multiple sizes of socket wrenches (what do I know!). This set has the most common sized in a nice sturdy case and was well received by the giftee. I am so glad that buying this set simplified the process of understanding different sockets are used for different tasks. I would not hesitate to buy these again next time someone asks for "socket wrenches". And DeWalt is one of our household's favorite brand due to the durability of DeWalt products.

This is a really nice socket wrench set.I was assembling a work table for my mini-mill and all the bolts and screws were metric. I needed to get the set-up done ASAP, so I ordered this socket wrench set from Amazon. The same-day order fulfillment was fantastic and allowed me to keep schedule.I kept my expectations low as I just needed something to get the job done, to turn the metric bolts. As I used the wrench and sockets, however, I kept remarking on their high quality.The case is superb. Very heavy duty, with clear cover so you can see and shadow board the kit’s components, and with form-fitted recesses that hold the wrench, sockets and adapters in place and in neat order. Its a really good looking case, too, that would make for a great presentation as a gift. It felt a little bit like Christmas to behold the case and open it.The polish on the stainless steel wrench, sockets and adapters is incredible — mirror like and flawless, and like silk in the hands. Though smooth, the handle of the wrench has great ergonomic fit to the hands and with just enough slotting in just the right places to give a solid, positive grip.The ratcheting is smooth with positive clicks, as well as is the lever to switch between clock-wise and counter-clockwise torquing. All the sockets fit securely, with no wobble, on the drive heads and adapters. They remove and attach quickly and smoothly, with positive snap-in-place without binding or grinding.The top row of sockets are the Imperial standard dimensions, and the bottom row are the metric dimensions. The metric sockets fit to the 3/8” drive head and 1/4” drive adapter. I like that cross-compatibility where all the sockets use the same, Imperial standard driver and drive adapter.There is only one wrench and it has the 3/8” drive head. To attach the 1/4” drive sockets, you need to use an adapter, which is perfectly good for me. There are drive extensions for both 3/8” and 1/4” if you need them. The 1/4” drive sockets attach and detach by ball-detent spring snap to the 3/8” to 1/4” drive adapters. The 3/8” drive sockets require the user to push a button on the reverse side of the drive head to disengage the ball-detent for attaching and detaching the sockets — I’m citing this feature as a good thing, and as a reminder: if you use the 1/4” drive sockets for a long while before switching to 3/8” ones, you might forget about the release button and mistakenly think your socket is stuck. ;-)I enjoyed using this socket wrench set so much that I undid all the bolts and screws — 28 of them — on my machine table so I could continue to experience this socket wrench kit in action, to undo the bolts and screws and then to re-set them.I highly recommend this DeWalt socket wrench set to anyone needing to have both Imperial and metric dimension sockets handy. The kit doesn’t have the full range of socket sizes that you’ll find on a jobber set, but it has sufficient range for 99% of what you would need for most applications.

Las acabo de recibir y sin usarlas ya sé que es una herramienta de calidad y duradera. No esperaba que fuera asi de tanta calidad tanto el maletin donde vienen ordenadas como el metal de las propias herramientas. El precio es alto pero merece la pena ya que la llave de carraca y los vasos son para el batalleo. La marca Dewalt nunca defrauda.
