I had this tape before, not too long ago. I work as an ironworker and this tape is perfect. It’s heavy-duty and the max reach feature helps me get my measurements with ease on angle pieces, or a piece with a notch. It’s easy to read and see. I highly recommend this tape for any use. This is great for home and on the job sight…so, now I have this tape again. I messaged the seller on here and I explained that my tape was stolen from me and I didn’t have the money to get a great piece of gear, like this tape. A susie homemaker tape isn’t gonna cut it. The cheap ones are no good for anything if you ask me. Anyway, they sent me another tape, free of charge. These guys at DeWalt are for the working man or woman and that deserve much more than a rating. Dewalt has my business forever. Thanks guys!

Needed to measure the height off the floor of a “stage lighting can†to see if I needed a 10 or 12 foot step ladder to change a bulb. I was able to easily extend the tape up and use the magnet on the end of the tape to hold the tape in place so I could measure that the can was 17 feet off the floor. A quick tug and the magnet released and the tape retracted properly. I have always wondered how some the contractors on pbs shows could point with their measuring tape at things so far up in the air. Now I know!

This is the large do everything tape measure. If you don't need the extra long tape, you may want to buy a smaller one if you have to carry it arround. Mine sits in one place and is returned religiously to that spot as my go to measuring device, so larger size doesn't matter.

i have all Dewalt power tools - because they simply work and last. Thought i would try this tape measure when my last one was lost - paid more for it though thought it would be worth it to get Dewalt quality. The magnet for the end was almost impossible to put on. I used it for one project and now the tape doesnt retract. Folded it up and put it in the garbage. WIll stick with the cheaper tape measures in the future.

Excellent tape measure however I had to return the original order as the print on the front of the blade was faded black. The backside of the blade was jet black in colour, the way it should be. The replacement is better, however not as jet black as it should be. I will keep this one as it is acceptable.
