A great hand spade for the garden. Forged construction gives it strength, the contoured wood handle makes it comfortable to use. and the sharpened edges make it easy to dig with. So far I haven't seen a downside. I would recommend and would buy again -- but unless I lose it, I probably won't have to replace it. A definite five stars.

Excellently made and relatively well balanced weight. Would be very challenging to bend. On the large side for a trowel making it ideal for smaller planting projects. Might be large for a small hand.

This trowel is all I dreamed it would be and more. It is study, well made and seems like it will last a very long time. It has made my gardening a pleasure. Definitely worth the money.

Nice heavy thick steel able to be sharpened to a nice edge. Quality attachment to handle and well worth the price. In a world of cheap throwaways this is not it. Highly reccomend to purchase.

I bought this three years ago. It is an excellent all purpose hand shovel. I've had so many cheaper shovels bend or break, but this stands up to hard clayey and stoney soil in Western PA. You get what you pay for, and you pay for what you get - and this is worth every penny.

Made very well, very sturdy, I like the width. I had bought a wider spade that I did not care for. Works great, very pleased.

Bought this as a gift for my mom so I haven't used it personally, but out of the box you can immediately tell that it is a quality tool.

This is my second DeWit garden trowel, so obviously I’m a fan. I bought my first one at least six years ago because I do a lot of landscaping. I will use my old one at the gardens where I volunteer, just in case it gets lost. What I love about it is the blade is pointed and beveled, making it so much easier to dig deep-rooted plants out of the most compact ground. I also put a lot of force on the handle and it has not become loose, split, or worn, other than the finish wearing off after years of hard use. The little collar piece is the only thing that eventually came loose on the old one. Now, the head is forged steel so of course it will rust if you don’t take care to remove wet soil or you leave it outdoors in a moist environment. Rust is a user issue, in my opinion. Definitely recommended!

Partner wanted a trowel that wouldn't break and I did my research. This had good reviews and being Dutch himself, I realised my partner would recognise the name. He is impressed with the quality and sturdiness of this trowel. Highly recommend.

Best you can get around here. Forget Gardena and others. For our clay soil-the best.
