It's only getting 4 stars because they didn't hold up as long as I'd have liked, but they were perfect for shaping my gemstones. I wish I could find them in some higher grits for finishing touches, but they worked great. Very well balanced and high enough quality discs.

These are probably really good for sharpening tools or rough grinding but they are no where near the grit marked on the disks. The "3000" didn't polish at all. It scratched and abraded.

Just received the laps, and I haven't had a chance to eval actual performance, but I am favorably impressed by the appearance of the laps. I really like the thin-yet-sturdy design of the laps. Again, I cannot offer a final rating until I have actually used all six of the laps -- to assess for uniformity or the presence of "scratch zones" on the individual laps.

Each disk is within spec of its grit size. I recommend engraving the grit on the disc because the paper will wear away fast
