Non-Contact Tachometer, Rotational Speed Measuring Gun
Ideal for applications where a contact tachometer would be unsafe to use or will not reach. Just apply some of the supplied reflective material to the moving part and point the laser tachometer at it. The tachometer measures how often the reflective tape passes at a given time and calculates the rpm.
Applications: It is applicable to the production departments of motor, fan, paper-product, plastics, chemical fiber, washing-machine, automobile, airplane, steam, etc.

Seems to work, a little tedious to set it up for reflection on the tape. Plus have to rebalance the propeller afterwards since this affects the balance. Other than that it works.
