I am a field tech and work on Cornelius Quest Elites 2,000/4,000/4290s… it helped me quickly brix units but after about 3/4 months it started giving off numbers. Ex. When I zeroed out to calibrate it registered water at 0.4% …I changed batteries, wiped clean with fresh water, tried again it hit zero. But with juice it read about 1.4% off. But in the beginning it worked flawlessly. I would buy again I probably got a defective one.

This is a neat monitor that seems to work quite well, and is a good machine for the price. It's sturdy, has an easy to read screen, and is easy to clean off. Measuring brix helps in wine making and all sorts of food production, and is also a fun thing to experiment with. It's hard to know how accurate this is without another test device to calibrate it against, but I have no reason to doubt it. And it seems to give steady readings.

As I've been getting more into gardening, I'm finding knowing the brix levels is highly helpful. This monitor gives me instant readings. Unfortunately I don't have another one to go by, however after doing some tests I was able to pinpoint some deficiencies and fix them. This is very compact which makes it easy to carry into the garden to run some tests.I highly recommend searching brix info to get more into learning how to test plants. This meter seems like a must have in the garden.

As someone who worked in cherry agriculture, I am very familiar with brix meters. After leaving the job, I made sure to buy a manual one to keep track of the sugar content of my pressed apple juice and other juices. This meter is definitely an upgrade. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and easy to read.I recommend this brix meter for anyone who’s into making fermented foods or wines.

I am first going to be honest here, I am not knowledgable as to the exact workings of this refractometer in many things. I ONLY and specifically was told I needed it to assist me in my very beginning in wine making. Just begun to attempt this task, and seems to be a bit much in a largess project than my home may handle. However, an expert in such detailed information informed me to use this meter to determine how much sugar is in the fruit (then ending in the wine) and allow me a specific balance to the addition or the lacking in formation of sugar within as I am attempting to produce a non sweet red.Now with what I am about to present? Please note that the accuracy in definition is not a conclusion I personally found. No, I was told that I would find a solution in the sugar content if I used this refractometer as it is an excellent tool used to measure the gravity in Brix, specficly within an unfermented "wort". production. I am told the wort (a tech word for the wine beginnings meaning herb or vegetable) can be measured with the automatic temperature addition this has, so yes, what I just wrote.I can very much vouch for this portion of what I DO know about this? It CAME WITH BATTERIES!!! I have never been happier to see the batteries inside for use in this instrument than most anything as of late! EVERYTHING I have obtained as of late? (Think Easter Bunny) Has needed 101 batteries of various sizes. All of which I did not have! Hence perhaps my need to make wine? Hmmm... However the valuation within the results of this are particularly essential in my new quest. My apologies in lack of all information related to the many multi functions this amazing tool provides. The more I learn? I will extend towards the knowledge process to others as new to this as I am! But so far? Its providing the accuracy in readings I very much needed to continue wine making properly and to specific gravity aka SG! Ha, did not know any of that a week ago! So its all a process, and if your needs are aimed in the necessity of correct measure as this provides? I strongly suggest obtaining THIS product. Not only is its accuracy to spot? But the addition of the batteries won my heart the moment I saw the addition included! Fabulous planning on brands part!

I am a Brix refractometer novice so I can't attest to the definitive accuracy of this meter but so far in my limited tests it seems like a good way for one to get started.I obtained this Aicevoos Brix Meter in anticipation of the upcoming growing season in order to get a better idea of how my vegetables compare from batch to batch. While familiar with refractometers with respect to specific gravity, I've not used one for help in the garden. This Brix meter has been impressive so far in my experimenting. The test time is almost instant with consistent readings within each liquid I've used.Cleaning of the collection sensor is easy. Using distilled water and a cloth it's easy to wipe out the area to ready for the next sample.Temperature is only in °C and cannot be changed to Fahrenheit. Volume is in mL.The case seems well built and the LCD display is bright and easy to read. All in all this seems like a good quality instrument and time will tell as to it's usefulness.

The refractometer arrived with the lid loose, I didn’t care about that, so I started using it and for seven months there were no issues, but last week it just started showing odd readings, and when I tried to calibrate it (as I did many times before), it didn’t work

I lent this to my cider-making and allotment-owning friend to get the most accurate review - he was duly impressed by it... It's a very neat little unit. It’s very compact, fits into the hand nicely, and has a pleasing weight to it. It’s apparently waterproof or “water resistant†too, although the IP rating isn’t stated in the instruction manual. It turns on very quickly, and is ready for use as soon as it’s on. I took the advice in the manual and zeroed it with a little deionised water before I took my first reading, although the first reading was only 0.1% off complete zero anyway. It took a little while to get my first Brix reading as after pressing the Measurement button the display kept saying “add solution†so I wondered whether I’d added enough, and kept adding more and pressing the button. In the end, I did the classic Off and back On again, and that seemed to wake it up and I got my first reading. This year’s apple juice measured 10.9% before it started its journey towards ciderhood. My old refractometer, which I trust, and which I know agrees with my hydrometer, measured 11.0%, so that’s pretty good. Taking into account any differences due to my eyesight, and less than perfect illumination, I’d say I’d be tempted to trust this digital refractometer over the optical one, but as there’s only 0.1% in it, it doesn’t really matter. So, overall, very impressed. Nice to handle, nice to use, and quick and easy.A little more difficult to clean than an optical refractometer, as there’s a little well to get in and clean out, rather than just wiping the “slide†of an optical refractometer, but a screwed-up corner of a tea towel does the trick.
