If you use heat mats to help germinate your seedlings in a cold greenhouse, you'll understand what a game changer this is compared to setting a timeclock to guess when it needs to be warmer/cooler or babysitting during particularly warm/cool days in the greenhouse. THIS UNIT IS AWESOME!Before fully implementing, I tested for 3 days with 16oz. of plain tap water in a covered, plastic container on a heat-mat, with the controller set at 70.0°F (55F ambient). After bringing the water up to temperature, it maintained it between 69.2 and 70.0 for the entire time. This is more precise than I actually need but super-impressive!A couple of observations:⦠The power cord and the thermocouple lead are 5' & 6.5' long respectively, allowing the controller to be mounted more conveniently.⦠The adjustable temperature is easy to set and to read.⦠Because of its power specs, I am able to run multiple mats from the 1 controller.⦠I believe this would also work well to auto-run the exhaust fans from another controller.Honestly, if you need one, I'd recommend this one.

So I bought a heat mat for our pet snake. I didn't trust the poor temperature gauge it had, so I bought this to ensure the temperature was well regulated. Thank goodness I did! The heat mat was getting much too hot and might have hurt the snake. This allows me to set the exact limit I want and it automatically shuts the heat mat off if it gets too hot.One piece of advice - the instructions say to tape the sensor directly to the heat mat. That's not a great idea. The surface of the mat will get very warm, but that doesn't indicate the surface of the container. I taped it to the floor of the container so I could truly regulate what temperature my snake would experience.

I wanted a digital thermostat controller for my heat mat that I use to germinate seeds. I gave this Ruyyi Digital Thermostat Controller a try and I am very happy with it.I typically set this digital thermostat controller to 79 degrees. To test its accuracy, I have a separate thermometer. Often the temperatures are identical, sometimes the digital thermometer shows a variance of 1 to 1.5 degrees. Which thermometer is more accurate? I don't care. This little bit of variance is not going to make any difference in my opinion.The heat turns off when it exceeds the temperature I set by a degree or so. I feel comfortable with this digital thermostat controller that I can leave it on and not worry about my young garden plant seeds getting too hot or too cold. I give this Ruyyi Digital Thermostat Controller five Amazon stars.

Works great on controlling my heated seed mat. No more guessing or turning them on and off. I think keeping a fairly constant temperature in the early days of seed starting is important. The only spit I have for them is the coldest room in the house - usually about 10 degrees colder than every other room in the house. With my heated seed mat and this temperature control I’m assured that I’m keeping them at around 75 to 80°. I have one complaint and I removed one star for it. I have low vision and the temperature gauge is difficult to read with red letters on black and at certain angles I can’t read it at all. I recommend that they change the color of the numbers from red to green, white or yellow.

I am using this when proofing sourdough as I wanted to better understand and control the temperature. I have a small seed mat that I put in a box with my dough and then use this to monitor and control the temp. The temp never got all the way up to what I set it, but my box was not insulated, my kitchen was cold, and the seed mat is pretty small. So I am planning to get a bigger seed mat and try to find a better box, but it is working for me!

I am happy with this thermostat. I am using it with a set of 4 heat mats for starting seeds. This thing works exactly as described. It turns on when the temp gets a little below your set temp and off when it gets a bit above. The heat seems to be even across the mat and not focused on coils or anything. It was easy to program. I tested the accuracy of the thermometer and it seemed to be pretty accurate. Mine is running about a degree low.

This product was disappointing. It talked about the heating mat as though it was included. It's NOT. This is really a temperature triggered, on off device. It doesn't provide heat it just measures the temperature through a standard open air probe. This controller simply turns on or off the integrated 110 receptacle based on the temperature of the settings within the controller. This seems somewhat useless since every heating mat I saw includes the controller. Can't recommend it because I can't use it without the mat. Not a good experience.

I have used these thermostats for year when I start my seeds in the late winter. I usually have 3-4 seedling mats. This thermostat controls the main outlet that then feeds electricity to mats. The sensor probe goes into the seed trays and tells the mats when to turn on and off. This controller is particularly helpful as the front labels are large and easy to read. I have had ones in the past that were so small it was hard to read. I've only used this for a day but it works and is of similar quality to ones I;ve used in the past. I replaced my old one as the front labels had rubbed off and the hole in the top broke making it hard to hang. This is a great replacement.
